There's a huge difference between the American slavery and the classical slavery though.
Slavery existed everywhere and still exists in different forms. But americans did something that's really heinous which was banning the slaves from learning to read. I think that's truly evil.

Not a single word of Leopold's actions was taught in US schools. Honestly, I learned it while studying WWII and about royal families, and he popped up.
