Legendary PAF fighter pilot Group Captain (r) Saiful Azam passes away in Bangladesh

. .
He achieved what he achieved when he was a Pakistani and a PAF pilot.
He Left Pakistan for Bangladesh in 1971. He is no more Pakistani or PAF pilot. Period.
Stop hailing him as a PAF pilot.
No,he provide his services to Pakistan, he was free soul so chose to live in Bangla. we sudnt disrespect our heros by disowning.

Once you surrender your citizenship for a new country, you are no more a citizen of the previous country.
Which part of it does not make sense to you?
This part they we deny his servuces for us during most critical situations, ans You can not judge him merely on his choice. HIS SERVICES WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED, we are not that pathetic Nation.

No one is denying his past as a Pakistani, he was a Pakistani, when he was a Pakistani, the day he left Pakistan for Bangladesh, he ceased to be a Pakistani. Now we can not refer to him as a Pakistani, or PAF pilot. at best you can call him an "Ex-PAF Pilot" or Ex-Pakistani Pilot".

We have millions of true at heart Pakistani heroes to respect and celebrate. we don't need "imported" heroes who left Pakistan for another country and lived more than two-thirds of their life in that country as a loyal citizen of that country.

what was his role in 1971?

regards
He was imprisoned by PAF to prevent him from joining the war. PAF did not want to face him in battle. There was never a doubt about his allegiance to Bangladesh, and he served the country well with BAF and non military roles later in his life.

LOL... no one was imprisoned, maybe not allowed to participate due to what one Bengali pilot tired to do by hijacking his own students plane.

Imprisoned / house arrest or grounded we will never know for sure and it does not matter. He came home to his family shortly after the war.

and that was fine with us.
He wanted to live in Bangladesh, we let him go there, nobody detained him against this wishes and nobody court-martialed him or stood him in front of a firing squad for deserting his service or the country that trained him, but the moment he stepped on the vessel leaving Pakistan for Bangladesh, he ceased to be a Pakistani. Why is it so difficult for people to understand it?
