Lebanese Army ordered at ‘full readiness’ at southern border to face Israeli threat

Are you referring to Mustefa Kamal?
Was he an Ottoman? I am referring to the period of the downfall of the Ottomans.. and the reason had nothing to do with Arabs, actually it has to do with Europe discovery of America, and Europe becoming much richer than the Ottomans..many Ottoman ambassadors to Europe warned the later Khalifs about it and asked them to take some positive actions to counter these events, but the Ottomans were too slow to respond and that brought they downfall.. there is a thread about the whole story that I have posted.. you can find it in The Military History & Tactics section.. it is a good read..

OT:
This is a joke..the Lebanese army lack everything in weaponry, at the first shot, they'll be hiding in Beirut, and Hezbollah fighting in the South..its fiefdom..

Sir,
First of all, I'm reading history these days and my comments are motivated through it but it may change as I learn more. Furthermore, I didn't say that Ottoman's didn't have their fair share of issues. They have become weak and that's not a secret and it happens to most of the empires, they rise and reach apex point and then slowly fade into oblivion. Abbasids, Fatmids, Mughals, Andalucians, Ottomans all went through this cycle and look at the Greece, Europe's cradle of science, philosophy and democracy is now mired into poverty and debt.
But was okay for the Arabs to join the British against their own brothers in faith - the Ottomans? and then the Arabs didn't even restore Khaliphat rather accepted divisions under monarchies based on races imposed by the British puppeteers. Of course the Arab people were not aware of all those plans but the families (later dynasties) involved knew and they didn't realise that Britishers were doing double dealings and making secret plans of dividing the land with France and Russia.

It all comes back to same point,, the Ottoman Khalifs didn't take the advice of their most trusted men in Europe and because of that they brought the downfall of the empire that could have been saved if they acted timely and in tha appropriate manner, besides that they had some very harsh policies and governors in the Arab lands leading to the revolts.. but this was only a side effect of the late Ottoman Khalifs inefficient policies..

very sad story in so called Arab world.
bench of Islamic countries make alliance with Israel to attack other Islamic countries.
:(
really Sad days for Arabs and Islam.

If you read through history, they joined the hands of British against Ottomans and thus played their vicious role in destroying the institution of Caliphate. They preferred race over religion and these nation-states love to use "Muslim brotherhood / Ummah" to manipulate non-Arab Muslims for their political benefit. They are now repeating the same game and now they will go to the extent of overtly supporting Israel against other Muslims who do not comply with their orders. They already declared Hezbollah a terrorist organisation so as to please Israel.

It is good that the world is seeing their true racist face now. Of course, as the end time is nearing, their deviousness and support of dajjal is getting uncovered.

However not all Arabs are the same. There are very good and pious people among them but I'm talking about these dynasties imposed upon us by Lawrence of Arabia.

I was never a part of the Wahhabi bashing brigade, it essentially didn't bother me. What they are doing now, however, is downright evil.

that's an interesting perspective and I will definitely read more about it. Well my contention is that it was wrong to move Khelafat outside the Hejaz or Arabian Peninsula because it has to be in proximity of Harmain.

I just started to study the history and one can easily see how they came into being.

Incidentally, I spoke to some one who lived in Saudi for a while. He said there is a famous Saudi myth how, at the very beginning of the take over, 30 Saudis entered the first town and took control by fighting and defeating the governor in battle. A guy, who I believe was a doctor for the Saudis, said the real story was that the governor came to the mosque to pray fajr, and as he was praying the Saudis behind him stabbed him in the back.
