P.S. You owe me 20 quids for the lesson in Indian psyche!

I would give you a box of Cuban Cigars :-)

However the FACT is that Those Indian Pilots who
have flown Mirage 2000 are
NOW flying the LCA Tejas

And they have affirmed that TEJAS has a better FBW
which makes Flying easier for Pilots

Mirage 2000 has Better range and payload -- NO doubt

But Tejas will have an AESA in Two years time

ADD to it Composite materials which reduces RCS

Tejas has a Better Wing Loading and A Climb rate than Mirage 2000

This was One Objective which we had in Mind from the Beginning

Tejas will Get Behind the enemy in No time and Fire a Python V
Up his Behind

.
Oki ... first, everyone jumped to conclusions as he didn't mention 2000
and, oeuf corse, meant Mirage III ... second, it is a normal thing for any
program director to claim superiority ( check Lock-Mart or Cassidian or ... ) ...
third, this is a tad more pronounced in India ... which is proven by the
quote mentioning French Mirages?

So ... French 2000s are shitty but once they get the Indian treatment
as part of their AF they become chariots of the gods, only surpassed by
alien spacecraft inspired marvels designed in Bharat, as we all know.

But, the good side is that once the Raffy replaces red w. orange & blue w. green
it will by the same nationalistic belief become a few orders of magnitude of
awesome above any other earthly flying machines
[ save LCA mark II OFC ] which
explains why our Indian friends are not worried about J-20s and decreasing
squadron strength?

It's too bad the Typhie wasn't picked and bought cuz it would have gone from
in no time flat!

Cheers mate, Tay.

P.S. You owe me 20 quids for the lesson in Indian psyche! :smart:
it mentions the mirage 2000 not the mirage 3.

in like 50 years time imagine what they would do to the rafale...........:o:
oh and its called 20 quid not quids
and as for the 20 quid the cash will be in the post.:p:

Our AMCA will better than Rafale ; Even if it takes 20 years we will Get there

It is not about Time or money

It is about Industrial and Technological strength

There is NO looking back for India

as you work on 5th gen jets were already working on 6th gen kit (as well as france). oh and we already have 5th gen jets. as for the amca it would receive ioc 2035.

Hello Stephen and thanks, LOL!

You know my stand that the LCA should be continued
and provide for IAF's lowest tier if only because it exists
and is a local program.

But honestly again, it should have claimed the middle tier.
As for Dushmann's question, a plane envisioned when the
Mirage 2000 got into service aiming to top it that almost
meets M2K metrics as the latter isn't produced anymore ...

How about asking IAF pilots to compare two planes that are
being inducted at the same time just for fun : LCA and Rafale?
Can't wait for that 2019 article in an Indian newspaper/IDRW.

it mentions the mirage 2000 not the mirage 3.

Nope, the quote does not, only the title once souped up by a vibrant journo.
But thanks for the correction ( I always do that one ), and I'll be waiting. :D

And great day both and all, Tay.

@Taygibay

Good for you ; that is exactly the Point

Tejas was an attempt to CATCH up

We had No domestic programme till the Mid 80s

So it was always going to be about catching up with the Rest of the World

But Now that we have established a fairly decent Aeronautical Ecosystem
due to Tejas ; it is time to build upon it just like our SPACE programme

Tejas is a Platform for Further advancement

We have all the time in the world

Because we can buy the latest weapons in parallel to pursuing this
Indigenous programme

.
rejected by indian navy, only 2 tejas operational.you just copied mirages and put advance systems inside it.everything from engine to radar is foreign.you didn't make it anyway.

Mirage 2000 has its strengths ; undoubtedly
That is why we are spending a fortune upgrading it

But is a case of so far and NO further

Tejas is just starting its journey with several Positives and Strengths on its side

As I said earlier in Some Aspects Tejas is Better

AESA Radar ( 2 YEARS from Now )
Better FBW ; Composite materials and Lower RCS and Higher TWR

The Upgraded Mirage will have a Better EW suit and Modular Data Processing Unit
which is Borrowed from Rafale

.
If I put wings on my cigarette Pack it will be a more powerful air plane than F35, I am just saying

Maybe that is why India is having a tough time buying Rafale as Tejas is so superior. It must be as India took 30 years to perfect the plane. It's an like aged fine 30 year vintage wine that is superior to wine that is corked just yesterday, such as Rafale.

After 30 years and India producing 17 of them? That is impressive.
Atleast producing is better than assembling in knocked down kits!

Despite being an Indian I have only criticism for Tejas plane.

I don't understand what Indians blabber about when they say that Tejas plane is indigenous.

Let us take the promise of indigenous development. In 1986 an agreement was quietly signed with the United States that permitted DRDO to work with four US Air force laboratories. The to-be-indigenously-developed engine for the LCA -- Kaveri -- was forgotten and the US made General Electric F-404 engine was substituted. Radar was sourced from Erricson Ferranti, carbon-fibre composite panels for wings from Alenia and fly-by-wire controls from Lockheed Martin. Design help was sought from British Aerospace, Avion Marcel Dassault and Deutsche Aerospace. Wind tunnel testing was done in the US, Russia and France. As for armaments -- missiles, guns, rockets and bombs -- every last item was to be imported.
And whole USA and Russian space and missile program was found upon v2 rocket, sooooo?
