‘Laxmi Rani Marma is Khaleda’s mother’

However, if 15th August is not her real date of birth she should not celebrate on that day. It is seen as vulgar by others. She should come forward with a clear statement that her parents put a wrong date of birth while rolling her into the school and that her real birthday is such and such. She should not use that day to celebrate if it is false.

However, she celebrates that day with too much of festivities. She is a woman who received unsolicited support from the father like Sk. Mujib when Major Zia had differed with her in 1972.

what she should do or should not do is not for us to decide ....she can celebrate whatever she wants......
and there is still no solid proof that 15th august isnt her birthday..only accusations from her opponents

the red part is irrelevent here..........

oh so now we are back to discussing basic human rights
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.
—Article 1 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)

She has every right to hide her roots/name/birthday just like anyone else.

The issue here is not 2 birth day only as she used 4 different birth day at different occasion. If you like it or not it is a punishable crime in many countries. As an ex PM she should not use a fake birth day to celebrate her birth day... These are the 4 different birth day she has used so far...

1. According to record of education board it is September 5, 1946.
2. According to marriage certificate it is August 9, 1944.
3. According to record in Prime Minister oath August 19, 1947.
4. According to press secretary of Khaleda Zia August 15, 1947.

which countries if i may ask?
also a country where people make hundreds of different figures for war victims shouldn't even think of such rules

. .
Millions of Bangladeshis keep record of their birth date by Bangla month, national big event, family crisis etc.It was norm 60/70 years ago.most probably her her Bangla birthday concurs with English August, but the actual date only she can verify. And I think its healthy curiosity for citizens of a country to want to know their leaders past but there should be limit and decency in the matter.Because if we dig deep we may end up with some horrific truth about our beloved leader's (AL in particular) we might not be able to digest. Some things should better left undiscovered for nation's peace of mind.

Providing false information is a crime in every country including Bangladesh. She used separate birthday to get passport, at Prime ministerial oath and at election commission she filed another birth day. In the above 3 occasion one must provide accurate information otherwise necessary charges can be brought against anyone if he/she provide fake/inaccurate information intentionally. Before losing 96 election she used to celebrate birth day at a different date. After BAL came to power she started celebrating it on August 15. If someone dnt know his actual birth date he/she can select a random date or later he/she can change it through affidavit. In this case she maintained different birth date in various government documents. For a national leader like her this is no way acceptable.

Are you talking about the propaganda that was spreaded by jamatis at the web that Shaikh Mujib born to a hindu father??? That was already digged up in detail in various place including here by a self proclaimed knowledgeable person. It was already shown that is a big propaganda as there were no such thana at that time. On top of it all the member in the mujib family resemble each other which also debunk the claim automatically. Now hope you also wont come with that jamati propaganda again. We know them how low that they can go where they even dnt hesitate to dirty politics with the number of dead bodies where they increased around 20 dead to 3000 dead without any proof and i**** people like you digested that.

If she is a marma then she must be shantibahini too and the sister of sontu larma
‘Laxmi Rani Marma is Khaleda’s mother’

The BNP walked out of Parliament again on Monday, protesting against a ruling party MP’s ‘indecent’ remark on the mother of the opposition Leader.

Mikes off if remarks indecent: Speaker
2013-06-16 16:29:13.0
Nazma Akhter MP’s comment came a day after Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury issued a ‘tough warning’ against using ‘un-parliamentary’ language.

Speaking on the proposed budget, Akhter claimed: “Laxmi Rani Marma is the opposition leader’s mother… Her father, too, had a surname of Marma.”

She continued ignoring the Speaker’s call to speak on the budget and claimed to have gleaned the information from a book.

Khaleda is the daughter of Tayeba Majumder and Eskander Majumder.
Irked by the Awami League MP's remarks, the opposition left the House in protest around 9:30pm only to return fifteen minutes later.

Parliament has been rocked by personal attacks in recent weeks.

Last week, both the opposition and the ruling party assured the Speaker that they would not use offensive remarks. However, such assurances seem to have had little effect.

Bangladesh Jatiya Party’s Andaleeve Rahman Partho first stirred Monday’s session by attacking Awami League’s Tofail Ahmed, Suranjit Sengupta, and Syed Abul Hossain.

Last week, BNP’s Syeda Ashifa Ashrafi Papia MP, known for her rhetoric, had claimed Prime Minister’s daughter-in-law was a Jew.

Papiya’s remark had prompted Nazma Akhter to attack the BNP chief over her family lineage.

Akhter flayed Andaleeve’s remark that the government was getting ‘scared’ of BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman’s speech.

Tarique made his first appearance at a public meeting in nearly five years in London last month where he urged the expatriates to mount pressure on the government to reinstate the caretaker government provision.

In response to Andaleeve’s remark, Nazma Akhter said: “We are certainly afraid of him (Tarique). [Because] we’ll have grenade attacks like the one on Aug 21, women will be dishonoured at the Khowab (Hawa) Bhaban, militant attacks will take place, if he returns.”

She alleged Tarique, under the influence of liquor, had tried to rape the wife of an actor on a plane.

ALL THESE BD POLITICIANS AND MPs ARE BIG TIME JOKES .....

That is the worst excuse ever!!

Really? people crying over a person who used fake birthdate but never looks at the number they put in history books? hypocrisy seems normal these days.

For your excuse one cant expect anything better from a jamati or jamatri supporter or razakar sympathizer.

Therefore as a responsible citizen, must you not press charges against her rather than ranting all day in forums about it? same goes for the BAL leaders, should they not press charges if it is a crime? Either do it or leave it.
Its not an excuse, its the ideology you peeps follow. A person's Birthdate is more important than important historical figures. Absurd and stupid to say the least.

I do agree with you and in the same manner BNP MP Papiya should not have also made the comment as below which eventually prompted the remarks...

Any sort of personal attack should not be the part of discussion at national assembly. Its none of Papiya's matter whether Joy's wife is a Jew or not... Same goes with this BAL MP as well.

Khaleda's mother or hasinas mother history is no longer usable for us but joy as future prominent leader of Bangladesh married a jew is some thing in expected and embarrassing .
