Launching Ceremony of Landing Craft Mechanized (LCM)

.
It appears small to me and a total of 2 are being built.
These will carry around 40-60 troops. from what i can observe from its size i don't see it carrying more than 2 mechanized vehicles.... let's hope the second one being built is bigger.

Same observation from me but the other one will also be of same size and design. i dotn think there will be any changes. PN knows their requirement better. Hope for the best

How Pakistan can use or deploy these boats effectively in your opinion @Penguin

. . .
Will those be good for rapid deployment of troops in border area of Surcreek?
Possibly, though in marshy areas, I would think hovercraft are a better option, at least for troops. LCMs are more usefull for carrying (heavier) vehicles, but slower.

You mean LCMs will allow rapid deployment of equipment / armour in those areas while hover crafts well rapidly deploy troops?

Interesting ideas for now while I do not see its application but its a tool which does have its uses and a capable navy should have such assets

Pakistan Navy Marines have 4 Griffon 2000TD(M) hovercraft. First craft acquired in 2006, second in 2008. Two more were expected to be delivered in 2009. These are capable of transporting 16 troops (8 per side, seats facing each other) or 2 tons of equipment. They do not carry vehicles of any kind. See gallery Amphibious Ships

What an LCM can carry varies (typically between 60-200 troops, or 15-55 tons cargo/vehicles), depending on their size (30-65 tons loaded displacement). However, by design, they all can carry one or more vehicles: it is the purpose for which this type of craft was conceived. See Landing Craft Mechanized - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

But still the design is so World war 2 nothing that great

Its ok to have 40-50 such ships handy to perhaps land on a a near by port for training or something

. . .
Its may be useful in Africa, but not in this region.
