Well, it seems Indian Army is killing faster than the speed at which new people are getting recruited. So, in long term India can suppress Kashmiris, no matter how much 'Insha' is there from 'Allah'. Its a question of simple fact. There are literally more soldiers/footmen to be hired from few cities in UP to overwhelm all of Kashmiris.

The stupidity of the situation is that India had a much better solution to this situation for quite sometime. India is huge, has more than a billion people and yet they could not accomodate 2-3 million Kashmiri youth in their vast country. Move them away from machine guns and army. Give them a half way decent life. The amount of money spent in keeping them suppressed could have integrated them in the Indian fabric very nicely.

Kashmiris are really really great artisans. My family has a number of 'Made in Kashmir' heirlooms. Some of them are more than 100 years old. Once we showed one of our old rice bowl having traditional metal work from Kashmir to a collector, he was ready to buy it for more than 80K CAD.

If only, India had realized this and given Kashmiris peace and tranquility to practice their craft, with some support from the state. Away from the war-zone that Kashmir has become. But then, if Indian government were so far sighted, they wouldn't be Indian government, would they?

Local public support in Kashmir is the main reason for the elimination of the group. Intelligence Agencies cannot do such operations without local support. So Kashmiri's are also supporting Indian agencies. Slowly and with proper care, the general public in Kashmir will realise that they are better with India than Pakistan.

and trust me, I have relatives living in Indian Occupied Kashmir. Srinagar has been turned into a shacktown while Jammu resembles Lahori slums. The unemployment rate of IoK is a whopping 15% and poverty rates in IoK is continuing to swell.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Administered Kashmir has one of the highest literacy and school enrollment rates in entire South Asia let alone Kashmir. Despite having a population 1/3rd that of Indian Occupied Kashmir, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan has much more hospitals and places of higher education (proportionate wise) than Indian Occupied Kashmir. Azad Kashmir has a GDP per Capita of $1750 and Gilgit Baltistan has a GDP per Capita of $1550 compared to the GDP of IoK which is $1100.

There are massive protests in IoK demanding freedom while there are protests in Gilgit Baltistan demanding Gilgit Baltistan be formally accepted as an integral part of Pakistan. That alone should tell you who's better off with who.

Over 30,000 - 100,000 Kashmiris have been killed in IoK since 1990, how many have been killed in Pakistan administered Kashmir?

Kashmiris in Pakistan feel safe, secure, happy and most of all; they see Pakistan as their country and motherland. Those who were lucky enough to cross over to the other side before the Indian takeover like my Grandparents still pray and thank God that they ended up in Pakistan.
