Turkey have good economy yes they should update their current F-16s but now should focus on developing their own fighter planes and also getting stealth technology and Stealth technology planes

Wasn't there an 18 ('06) + 14 order for Block 52s !

There was option for 18 more, actually options were way more than 36, but PAF reduced the order in wake of the earthquake of 2005. So we only ordered 18 BLK52+ and got them.

the 14+14 are the EDA ones, 14 of which we received already, and 14 more which we can get, depending on whether the USN gives them up or the EDA.

There aren't any difference between CCIP'd F16s and Block50+s ...at least not significant. CFTs could be ordered in a heartbeat.

There are numerous reasons why they weren't, first of all the newly procured 30 Block50+ are to compensate for our previous losses. Squadron(s) that was closed down due to lack of planes will be re-formed and these aircraft will be mostly used for ground combat/bombing operations.

Reason behind that is that there are some concerns over maneuverability of the aircraft outfitted with CFTs. We want to take the best performance out of our F16s in dogfights and our air-refueling capability make CFTs less crucial.

But what i ment was that There is nothing on the table. To say its a tai/Saab thing is to early.
We don't know if we are doing it solo or if we are gona find partners like brazil or Japan.

I know that the swedes are looking for partner to the Griffin NG but I don't think they are gona help the Turks with a "new" plane when they are trying to sell there own design to the world.

Thanx but don't we have a official statement from TAI or SSM.
Right now the only statement is from the American Software developer.

SAAB and the Swedish government is desperate for finding buyers to Gripen. Switzerland was on the table but that deal is a bit shaky if you know what I mean.

A partnership/investment/outsourcing or what ever you call it whould be big tabloids in Swedish press.

What I understud from the statements from TERNION is that SAAB is helping TAI to use FLAMES simulation program.

But we will se.

I think in Europe we can trust Sweden more then any other developed country.
They are in favor of Turkey joining the EU(allways a possitive aproach to Turkey)

Swedens support to turkey is bequse Sweden is sick of the French and German domination in EU. The whant turkey to level the power.
My problem with Swedish politics is there support to PKK and the Kurdish diaspora.
In every f.ucking meeting you can se representatives from all big parties in Sweden supporting the "rights" of the Kurds.
Just for 1-2 months ago a Swedish politician was having great time in kandil with pejak terrorist.
When it came out the only response was that she was in kandil to support Kurdish people in there strogle for human rights.

Heck I was only 8 years old when I got my first world map in school and in that map you could find Kurdistan.
That was 22 years ago.

On topic: F16 is a great platform and I hope the TFX can be a 4+++ Gen multi role. But it's hard even with help from SAAB
