As much as i like them to build hotles. The whole countries econamy can't work with hotles. You need more things, all dubai is doing is making big buildings. When oil runs out i see what good those steel gaints do

I never said so. i never said dubai will go bankrupt,my point of view is that Dubai is helped a lot by the free society it has ( no clothing restrictions, lot of discos, pubs) and this is helping them in the construction sector.

But there are other countries like bahrain and qatar who si doing the same, and even the big brother Abudhabi has started doing it.The same plans...massive hotels,tall towers,man made islands...

Right now in Dubai the properties sold are not occupied,they are just bought by the saudis and kuawaitis and other arabs.On the hope that they can sell it at a high price later which is the case now.

but with bahrain and qatar and abudhabi even ras al khaimah following suit,these investors willhave much closer locality to invest in.

I've admired Dubai and the rest of UAE for their progressive mind.
Oil is going to run out some day, only three Gulf countries are doing enough to grant their sustaind wealth in the future, i.e. UAE, Bahrain and Qatar.

Other countries in the region should learn from them.

Also, Dubai (DPW) was all set to buy port operations in thr 7 busiest ports in the US. Now it has just purchased a major Defense firm that builds the Abram Tanks. And many more to come i believe.
