I think the word terrorism sounds too...American for me. I don't believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that the Chinese leaders have referred to any such groups in China as terrorist, just separatists.

You raised a valid point.

The answer depends on how good the Chinese intelligence is. If a troublemaker is caught or killed is not associated with a separatist group from (Xinjiang, Xizang, or Taiwan) then I would think this troublemaker is classified as a terrorist; otherwise, it would be classified as a separatist.

So, the correct title should have been "Largest anti-terrorism/separatism drill starts in Beijing."

But the word separatism just does not sound politically correct in public so I guess lumping them together into terrorism is more kosher.
