Italian luxury sports car maker Maserati plans to open a dealership in Tehran, Iran, next year, as it expands its international network, not only to enhance its independence as a brand within Fiat SpA (F.MI) but also to tap demand from a new, wealthy elite in emerging markets.

Maserati won't own the dealership, preferring to import cars to a representative, a spokeswoman for the brand said Friday, confirming a report in Il Sole 24 Ore, an Italian business daily.

Maserati, whose models like the GrandTurismo cost more than EUR100,000 each, has made a push into new markets, bringing the number of dealerships it has worldwide to 250. The latest additions including those in Tel Aviv, Israel; Warsaw, Poland; and Damascus, Syria.

Only in regions like Europe does it own the dealerships directly.

Fiat is majority owner of Chrysler Group LLC, whose country, the U.S., has a trade embargo on Iran.

Maserati is one of the smallest brands within Fiat. In the first half of the year, it delivered 3,213 vehicles to its network. Revenue was EUR303 million, and trading profit, or operating profit excluding restructuring items, totaled EUR18 million.

According to PersianKhodro, latest news about vehicle importation indicates that Lamborghini deputation in Iran has been taken by “Gerami” Family, who has the deputations of two big south Korean automakers, Hyundai and KiaMotors.
This report states that deputation of Maserati has been obtained by a group of former executives of Moein Motor Company ( Porsche’s deputation in Iran ) too . this group is going to start its activities with the “Artatak” name . some individuals such as Bahram Gheisarzade and Fathi are familiar in this group .
According to this report, it seems that Maserati will come to Iran’s market sooner than Lamborghini. Because the process of obtaining the deputation and establishing their headquarter in Iran has been done quicker and now executives of this Italian company has come to Iran .

In Iran their is huge tax on foreign made cars, I wonder how regime will formulate the tax on these cars.
Bloody Hyundai is so dam expensive as compare to local made Peugeot and sarmad.

Most likely and as usual, the sale license has been granted to some one close to regime.

.
SO we may see some mullahs are driving Lamborghini and Maserati ...

No chance. Sanctions will stop these companies. Apart from legally binding sanctions, there are 'moral' sanctions where governments step in and convince companies not to do business with pariah states.

It would be a pity for these lovely cars to be ruined during air strikes.

Morality should never be preached by morally bankrupt people.
The United States and her British Lapdog are the biggest pariah states in the world, with the bloods of literally hundreds of thousands of innocent men women and children on their hands in the last 10 years alone.

Your country creates terrorists like a production line. Probably your biggest export.
