The Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Wednesday opposed the draft Lokpal bill, approved by the union cabinet Tuesday, saying it would give "all powers" to thepolice.
SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav and RJD chief Lalu Prasad expressed their reservations in the Lok Sabha after the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) raised the issue of the alleged manhandling of one of its MPs by the prime minister's security personnel inside parliament complex.
"Lokpal will not be in your hands. It will go to the hands of police. Nothing can be done then against the police," Mulayam Singh Yadav said."These powers will go to the police, they will notrespect us (MPs). Superintendents of police and district magistrates will send us to jail."
Asking the government to think over seriously as to whom it was going to give powers, he asked "whether all this could be done under pressure of one man", apparently referring to Anna Hazare.
RJD chief Lalu Prasad joined him, saying that he had not raised any insignificant issue but the government was not paying attention and acting as if it had "disappeared".
"You are going to give powers by which everybody's throats would be cut," he said.
He said there should be "consensus" before the bill is brought to parliament Thursday.

what Lalu doesnot Know is that the first person to be charged by Lokpal will be Team Anna members coz there so called NGO is an acused in cases of Land grabbing and Mis appropriation of funds
This was one of the reasons why Anna wants to start his protest again , coz he does not want Half Maoist NGOs to be prosecuted by Lokpal coz his own head will be on the line

He is also not satisfied coz non of the members of Nine member Lokpal will be from Team anna . And lokpal is not going to be the all powerful dictator which they hoped with over riding powers over PM and Arm forces

Infact That D.ick Khejriwal and that old fcuk Bhushan were thinking that they would be in the line to become Chairman of Lokpal
But with Govt deciding that Chairman will be apointed by President , there dreams lay shattered

Lokpal bill is most strongly opposed by laalu and mulayam, the two ex-CMs of bihar and uttar pradesh which are the two most backward states of india in every regard. These two are probably the worst kind of netas one can get.A neta is supposed to be a public servant, not a ruler of the nation. These two leaders consider themselves as rulers and continue to live undes such mindset even after the humiliating defeat in their respective state election.

People of bihar and uttar pradesh have always voted along the caste and religious lines and never on development. That is why these two states are the most backward of all indian states and made biharis and UP vallas as an abuse in rest of india. And mind it, its the people themselves responsible for getting abused by the rest of india. UP and bihar are the land of most laborious people. 55% of revenue generated in delhi and around 50 percent of revenue generated in mumbai is by UP vallas and biharis!! Which means they are important for people living in delhi and mumbai and also given a chance they will work hard and earn money.

Then why is UP and Bihar the two most backward states of india, its simply because of their people. Their mindset is still in medivial times. Caste and religion matters to them the most and not development. They can watch their children working 100s of miles away from them but they cannot develop their states so that their children don't have to go to work in other states and get abused.

By the way i am a Lucknowite. I have no shame in calling my state and its people as the most backward, only because its true.

I saw the whole thing on TV.
They were against the current draft.
They can't say don't pass lokpal. Otherwise they will badly loose in the next elections.
