Punjab Board of Investment and Trade Signs an Agreement and Facilitates the MoU between Golden Bean Group China and Labour Department Government of the Punjab
As a direct result of Punjab Board of Investment and Trade’s relentless efforts to promote Punjab as an ideal destination for investment, an agreement to establish a state of the art amusement park was signed on November 12, 2015 at Pearl Continental Hotel, Lahore.
The agreement was signed between a Chinese construction group and 3 provincial bodies. Government of the Punjab, Punjab Board of Investment and Trade, Parks & Horticulture Authority and Golden Bean Group China signed the agreement.
According to the agreement Golden Bean Group (GBG) will establish and operate a world class amusement park in Lahore comprising of a theme park, five star hotel, shopping centre, water park, business centre, aquariums, roller coasters and indoor/outdoor rides. Government of the Punjab, PBIT and PHA will provide respective support and facilitation to the Golden Bean Group with regard to its efforts in establishment of the project.
It was also agreed that Punjab Board of Investment and Trade will provide facilitation to Golden Bean pertaining to land buying, business to business meetings and in declaring the acquired piece of land for Them Park as Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
Punjab Board of Investment and Trade also facilitated the MoU between a Chinese construction group and Labour Department, Government of the Punjab. MoU was signed between Golden Beam Company China and Punjab Workers Welfare Board “PWWB” Labour department Government of the Punjab on November 12, 2015 at Pearl Continental Hotel Lahore.
Mr. Ali Sarfraz Hussain Chairman, Punjab Workers Welfare Board, Lahore and Mr. Jin Mingnan, Chairman Golden Bean Broup China signed the MoU. The purpose of this initiative is to formalize the commitment to work jointly for the planning and construction of Workers Welfare Complex adjacent to Sundar Industrial Estate (Phase-I), District Kasur Project.
Sundar Labour Colony is one of the projects of Punjab Workers Welfare Board (PWWB). PWWB will construct labour colonies in the whole province comprising state-of-the-art facilities for the welfare of industrial workers.
Back in January 2015, Mr. Raja Ashfaq Sarwar Minister for Labour and Human Resource, announced that a project worth billion of rupees to construct labour welfare complexes, WWB schools, multi-purpose community centres and mosques in Lahore, Multan, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Rawalpindi, Okara and Gujranwala districts were under process where filtration plants and drainage system would also be provided to facilitate the industrial workers and their families. He also informed that a project of 992 flats, costing Rs.3, 017 million for the construction of labour colony Multan, would be completed in the next two years along with a project of labour welfare complex Sundar Kasur at a total cost of Rs.7781 million.
According to the MoU, The Golden Bean Company will participate in the bidding of the construction of Workers Welfare Complex comprising following components: 2912 G+3 flats, A Bachelor hostel, A Community Centre, Two Workers Welfare Schools each for Boys and Girls having capacity of 2680 students, Maintenance office, infrastructure like Sewerage system, water supply and roads external development works etc.
Speaking at the occasion Mr. Abdul Basit, Chairman PBIT said that Golden Bean is a huge construction group of China. This agreement and MOU will not only encourage other foreign companies to invest in Punjab but also pave a way for drastic and abrupt improvement in the infrastructure and wellbeing of industrial workers of the Kasur district.
