Lahore High Court bars extradition of Mullah Baradar

The current na-paak Afghan govn't has the blood of hundreds if not thousands of Pakistanis on its hands.

Did you guys forget Dr. Afia Siddique who was detained and tortured at Bagram under the same govn't and later handed over to the US without consultation and knowledge of Pakistan?

Not to mention hundreds of our tribals and pukhtoons, both innocent civilians and enemy combatants were murdered ruthlessly in cold blood and never returned to Pakistan.

All this happened under the current Afghan govn't run by warlords and thugs.

We have no extradition treaty with Afghanistan govn't, So why should Pak handover any Afghans?

We should keep them in our jails for breaking the law of the land and keep them until the US leaves Afghanistan...

.
If Pakistan chooses to keep these guys, AND either let's them go or gives them plush accommodations in their own new Shura Villa, then Pakistan will reap what it sows .... again.

Not sure it is going to play out like that( they wont be free atleast) but.............. if a Court has given its decision, should the government over ride it?

None of your statements above are true. It is just propaganda that helps the enemies of your country and mine.

EXACTLY.

When murderous warlords like General Fahim, Dostum who have had their war crimes white-washed by the USA are running the show in Afghanistan, how can we possibly call this a credibile government?

These guys use to drive over people in tanks as a form of punishment not to mention the mass rapes their savage militias have commited.

.
hahaha...dont hand him over to afghanistan......doesnt make any difference...afpak policy works on both........so americans can come over here.......no one minds............

oper say na na ....andar say sab acha......

.
How about a trade for Women and Children in US prisons for the Known terrorist ?:pakistan::usflag:

It will improve US image , and also help get a known terrorist to US custody
and we can also get proper support for out army, and also help satisfy the human rights abuse people that a women convicted unfairly is back in Pakstan with her family

.
muslim khan should die in ISI jail:) he no need to face court because he is prooved son of *****

I wrote this in another topic sometime back:

"Ghair-Muslim Khan was captured on September 10, 2009. It has been 146 days since his capture. He has not been produced before any court. We need to prosecute him publicly, make an example out of him. See how India lets Kasab get the headlines every week after his appearance in court. He has been used to keep the memory of the attack alive and to reiterate to the public, the threat of another attack from Pakistan.

If we prosecute these people publicly then we can remind people of the atrocities these people have committed, their barbarism and the real face of the Islamic banner carrying Taliban and terrorists. What we do is let some "secretive" agencies work outside all norms and ethics, and keep people in detention without any judicial remand. Not surprising that hundreds are called "missing people".

Nonetheless, he should be produced before the ATC before 6th February, as the Judge has declared him as a Proclaimed Offender. read here (The News link on this somehow keeps redirecting to the main page, hence Sify news). Upholding the rule of law is the only way to improve our society. And please anyone don't argue that the legal system cannot do justice with these people and the judge will let him go free. No nonsense please. "

Today, it has been 169 days since his arrest. If we want to convince the small percentage of Taliban apologists among us to that these are true monsters, we must make an example out of them. Details of prosecution and their atrocities should be made public. He must be of no intelligence value anymore and he should be prosecuted.

Now THAT sounds like an excellent trade!
The idea behind the Court's ruling is that these people are criminals of Pakistan and have committed crimes against Pakistanis. They should be tried and sentenced in Pakistan.

Remember there is nearly zero % chance of the Judiciary and the government working together towards some sort of conspiracy. The court's ruling would only allow a Parliamentary decision to extradite them as it should be.

For the past few days we had been hearing that there are back channel talks of handing him over to the Afghans and that the government had already agreed. People were like wth, what about their crimes against Pakistan? Hence the matter was ruled in court against the government.

Or as an alternate hypotheses, Pakistan does not want him to spill the beans to the Afg and US about Pakistan's involvement with AT. Every one understands that his crimes against Afg outweigh what he has done illegally in Pakistan by a huge margin. Dont see why else will pakistan who really wants to change its perception in the eyes of Afghan people miss this oppoortunity to make a major gesture towards them

.
Please don't tell me you're that naive to think he is not going straight into Baghram once he gets off the runway, are you?

Unless you consider Afghanistan a legitimate government, I certaintly don't and I don't need to refer you to last years bogus elections to prove my point either.

Keep Baradar here, if they want him, we'll have Aafia Siddiqui back.

Our jails are not any better than Baghram either. He is an Afghan national if there is an FIR in Pakistan against him then sure but if not then what is the point? Lets send a clear message to all forign militants that either you surrender to GoP or you get killed or sent back to wherever you have come from.

Dr. Aafia Siddiqui's case has nothing to do with this guy because he is an Afghan and not a US citizen. However, a trade off may work in the case of five Americans who are currently in our ciustody.

We don't care about what he will say to the US because the US govt has its own perception about Pakistan so spare us this hypotheses.

I don't want him here because he is not our problem, period.

BTW, as a good gesture hand over Col. Prohit to Pakistan.

.
Well, I dont see why now USA or anyone else would even demand their custody if a state supreme court has adjudicated upon the issue .
Would defeat the whole "rule of law" concept. If Pakistan wanted a person in the US, even if he was a Pakistnai, the matter would have to be decided by the court. ( as in case of Mansur UL Haq, I believe)

.
The pakistani justice sure does work for hafeej saeeds and baradars.

Has baradar committed any serious crimes in pakistan (not related to illegal presence)?

Purohit has not committed any crimes in pakistan.

But you sure need to hand over hafeez saeed and his other heroes.

.
I believe Pakistan neither has an extradition treaty with US nor does it has with Afghanistan . And the guy is a criminal of Pakistani state , therefore he should be tried in Pakistan .
