Ok, i'm thinking positive, let my great grandson know when they finish building better than them.

Jokes apart, until this corrupt govt is in power, until we vote educated peoples like Musharraf, Imran khan or Mustafa kamal, nothing will change, or are you suggesting any miracle?

why you guys have habit of being so pessimistic?? all over the internet why do we abuse our own govt and people??..lets be a bit positve and hope for best. what you think is what you get. think positive and leave rest to Allah :pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan:

Ofcourse we can't compare, it's no use to compare our non existent metro to the one in Delhi.
I do hope Pakistan gets a metro line in atleast 1 major city.

I travel by metro and it's so much easier. (I still prefer a car though). ;)

However, with the current regime in place, and its incompetence, I doubt we'll see anything close to a metro soon.
Fingers crossed. :)

look the biggest problem would be keeping it safe from terrorist attacks! METRO is not feasible in pakistan given the current prevailing situation!

& our government is so corrupt that it can't even run the trains we currently have. they also closed down TRAMS in karachis in the early 80s! we are actually going back as a nation not forward! :hitwall:

This is a couple of days old but....

Govt mulls over mass transit system for Pindi

Punjab government is mulling over a plan to start a ‘Mass Transit System’ (Mono Express) in the city from Mareer Hassan to Islamabad via Pirwadhai.

Talking to ‘The News’ MNA Malik Shakeel Awan said that Punjab government wants to resolve the traffic mess of Rawalpindi. “In this connection besides implementing projects like flyover in Rawalpindi, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif is determined to launch Mass Transit System, which would be a rail service from Mareer Chowk to Islamabad via Pirwadhai. The chief minister has directed the city district government to work on the project seriously and prepare a feasibility report in this regard. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs6 billion,” he added.

He said that the feasibility report would be completed within next three months and after the approval of the scheme and allocations of funds by the Punjab government work on this mega project would kick off.

Responding a query, he said that the planned flyover projects from Benazir Bhutto Hospital to 5th Road and Sixth Road would mainly cover the traffic load coming from Rawal Road. It would also affect in reducing traffic load on Benazir Bhutto Road as well. However, in order to completely ease the traffic load on Benazir Bhutto Road, the project of Mass Transit System would be launched and work on this project would be completed before the next general elections, he added.

Similarly, a high-ranking official of Pakistan Railways on condition of anonymity said implementation of Mass Transit System (Rail service) was more feasible than the other costly projects like Elevated Super Expressway or Leh Expressway. “The cost of Mass Transit System will be far lesser as compared to Elevated Super Expressway or Leh Expressway. With the implementation of Mass Transit System, the problem of traffic at Benazir Bhutto Road would be completely resolved,” he added.

He said that in this connection MNA Shakeel Awan recently held negotiations with Railway authorities in the Division Office, Rawalpindi. “We briefed him about the nature and low cost of Mass Transit System, as compared to other projects. The total cost of Elevated Expressway is estimated to be Rs32 billion. Similarly, the cost of Leh Expressway at Liaquat Road is Rs22 billion. Whereas, Mass Transit System project would be completed at an amount of Rs6 billion only, which would save the revenue of the Punjab government, he added.

Official spokesman for RDA also confirmed the reports and order given by Punjab government as well as the city district government for starting work on the feasibility report for Mass Transit System.

What an inferiority complex!!!...if you are going to build every thing better than India then you need to do lots of catch up, because we have already 3 metros in operation and last year India's Hyderabad airport was awarded the best airport in the catagorey of handling 5 to 15 million passengers, don't compare your self with India it will lead you to no where, same way India can't compare it to US or any advanced country or even China for that matter, each country have to build it's country based on it's own merits and demerits...

In my village there is a proverb the barking dog never bites, so first finish the project and then inform us Pakistan metro is better than Delhi Metro..

Below is a video of one section of Delhi Metro you can use it while building your metro so that you make it much better then Delhi, best of luck!!!
