Kylie Jenner under fire for 'not paying' apparel workers in Bangladesh

US reality TV star Kylie Jenner, who first appeared on Forbes Billionaires list in 2019 at 21, has faced intense anger on social media after her Kendall + Kylie clothing line reportedly refused to pay workers in Bangladesh.

The Kendall + Kylie clothing line is owned by Global Brands Group, which has decided not to pay the workers in Bangladesh due to a drop in sales amid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to The News ABC, Global Brands Group CEO Rick Darling describes the situation as follows: “Due to the unpredictability of the situation, our retail partners have cancelled orders and the existing products in stock, like the products that are still in production, are not sold. As a result, we have no other option than to make the difficult decision to cancel all S / S 2020 orders.”

Besides Kylie, Cardi B has faced criticisms as well. FashionNova, with whom the 27-year-old rapper has just launched a collection with, has also cancelled orders due to the ongoing pandemic, and cut workers in both Bangladesh and Los Angeles “off with no pay, and no promise of when they'll return”, reported PopBuzz.

Kylie, half-sister of Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, debuted Kylie Cosmetics in 2016 with $29 lip kits containing matching lipstick and lip liner.

She first grabbed the spotlight in the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” reality TV show she starred in with her mother and siblings.

Some so called 'Celebs' just disgust me. Famous for just being famous. No skills, no quality, just garbage and they become famous. Then they cash their fame with their own brands or clothing line or whatever. Poor people in 3rd world countries work their butt off and these celebs become richer. Nothing should come in between their lavish lifestyles no matter what.

Wasn't one of her trashy family member was paid to do a Pepsi blm lives matter? I get the logic only non-white lives in the west are worth caring about, mean while you can rob your workers in non - white countries of their dues for their hard work which you employed them for.

Black Lives Matter, They're of the utmost importance, because said black people live near the whites.

The white race thinks of themselves as the "moral police" of the world, they hold themselves in high regard and perceive themselves to be "morally superior" beings, as such they need to join the BLM lemming train to prove to themselves they aren't racist.

Brown lives in some distant third world country colloquially referred to as "Shitholes" by white don't matter.
You see they don't care because they don't see the suffering in real time, and as such they will not get any dividends or praise or feel good about themselves, If they took a stand against the blatant disregard towards the rights of Brown people world wide.

The point I'm trying to make is BLM is not a movement, White people care about and espouse, to them its just a trend. White culture-less people with no family vaules, live very very bland lives as such you see them do crazy stuff like jumping off of cliffs and all the other thrilling shenanigans just to add some spice to their bland, sheltered privileged existence/lives.

BLM is the latest trend that helps them feel up-to-date, relevant and important. The urge to feel a part of something bigger is real among these people. These people jump onto nonsense trends, quicker than a hooker hops onto a john.

There is no point in speaking up for Brown People, they let their drones do the talking.

It is as they say in the famous albeit simple adage; Out of sight, out of mind.
(referring to the abuse and injustice brown people face)

I am quite a dark-skinned man, almost like a gorilla. But, I do not feel that inferior when I am in Japan or in countries of east Asia including China as well as in the countries of the west though they are all fair and/or white skinned.

However, when this same gorilla visits his country BD he is looked down upon by quite a few Bangali Shaheb because somehow these black-skinned Nouveau rich can really smell he as a poor man earning a living abroad not bestowed with money.

So, now tell me why many of our own people should also behave more disdainfully than white men do? Comparing to our Kala, fatty and rich Bangali I believe white people are less racist. Every people like to interact more with his kind of people. If our people should feel whites are racist they should mingle among themselves instead of complaining.

As a matter of fact, since we have been unable to develop our country that can provide us jobs and a good life, so we go to white countries voluntarily. Should we then complain against our hosts?

I'm not disagreeing with you, I was merely stating what I have observed while living among white people, white youth anyway.

About Bengalis looking down on others when they start making some bank, yes I've noticed this too, and the problem of social apathy that our society faces at this moment is indeed disturbing.

However, I was speaking on Racism here, If someday we have a thread on the subject of Bengali boro lok'er chele/beadob then I will give my two cents on this rather, depressing and disheartening issue.

This is more noticeable among rich upper class women, in the N number of universities in Dhaka, I've witnessed some disturbing things happen while I was in DU, not in the least rich girls slut shaming a poor girl and then getting away with it, a wholly false and cooked up accusation.

US reality TV stars Kendall and Kylie Jenner have denied accusations of not paying workers producing for their joint fashion line saying the brand’s owner does not produce in Bangladesh.
A representative says their relationship to an international apparel company, Global Brands Group, has been misidentified, according to Teen Vogue.

Kylie, who first appeared on Forbes Billionaires list in 2019 at 21, has faced intense anger on social media after reports on the alleged non-payment of workers surfaced.

She has also reportedly limited her Instagram comments after fans demanded that she pay the workers. With 182.3 million followers, she is the fourth most followed person on the entire app and second most followed woman.

Several news publishers reported that the Kendall + Kylie clothing line is owned by Global Brands Group, which has decided not to pay the workers in Bangladesh by cancelling orders due to a drop in sales amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Citing an email from a representative for Kylie, Teen Vogue on Wednesday said: The Kendall + Kylie brand is owned by Canada Inc and the brand does not produce in Bangladesh. “So [these allegations are] not accurate,” the representative said.

When asked about its relationship with Global Brands Group, the representative told Teen Vogue: “There was a past relationship with CAA-GBG years ago. Canada Inc worked with them in a sales capacity for Europe and South America for sales only.”

Kendall + Kylie, however, was listed under GBG's "Kids" brands until Tuesday.

Another representative for the brand confirmed Teen Vogue that "they don’t have any affiliation with GBG" and were “working on getting the brand removed from the website”.

Remake, a non-profit against exploitation in fashion, had earlier called on the Jenner sisters and other celebrities to pay the factory workers for the work they did ahead of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Remake told Teen Vogue it had received word from a Kendall + Kylie representative that they do not have “current” orders with Global Brands Group and “will pursue legal action if we didn’t remove our posts and apologize”.

The fashion group added. "We ask: do KENDALL + KYLIE know who makes their label? And if the women have been paid during the crisis? Until we receive clear answers from the team that KENDALL + KYLIE have proof they paid garment makers, we will not back down.”

Before we even begin to trash these garbage stars, remember their fans are even bigger idiots.

I have seen it all when I came across a crowdfunding page where her fans called for donations to make her the youngest billionaire. Good God.

.
I doubt if she is even aware of it. Normally these people are only the face of the company while operational matters are seen by the board.

.
She probably didn't even know about it until it was raised on social media. Shes just the brand/face of the company, not the management who are guilty of this. If indeed it has happened, I'm sure it will get fixed as the fallout is contrary to what she and her cucked family supposedly stand for.

Yes, you may be correct. These two ladies do not really know what really is happening with their importing companies. I hope they will fix the issue since now it is in the social media.

Are you people above 50? I noticed one thing in this forum, that is most people are in their 40s and 50s.

I am 24 years old btw. I think I'm the youngest PDF member from Bangladesh.
