Dude I used to work in the construction sector in UAE ,so I know what I am talking about. There are a lot of helpers(unskilled labour) that comes from Pakistan. Most of them stick around for 3-4 years ,earn enough money and get driving licence while other nationalities try to move up inside the construction sector as chargehand, foreman etc. I personally know an Indian who came to UAE as a plumber, but moved up and now is a Project Engineer.

There are many apartment blocks in UAE whose care takers are from Pakistan. One of the duties of being a caretaker is the regular cleaning of the apartment common areas. That makes them janitor in my book. The sector in which Pakistanis clearly dominate is the transportation sector both on the road and off the road (garages). Not to mention they own big companies like Bilawal Transport (Rumor has it that it belongs to the Bhuttos)

Also I don't understand whats the problem with being a maid,sweeper,garbage collector etc. Not everyone can afford to go to schools and get educated. I believe that every job has its dignity.

Come on, you might be educated and aware but unfortunately, it doesn't stop the flood of news for the mistreatment of innocent maids and poor workers in your country who just come to do their work earn money and take care of their families. Please Google it rather than feeling guilty for no reason.

This problem is not so much in other GCC countries like Oman, Bahrain etc while it is a bit too usual in Saudi and Kuwait. Can you explain why the difference despite same culture?

My point exactly Media blows it our of proportions it is there. But it is a 1 out of 10 thing but media rubs its face over every little thing that comes out and they wouldn't know about it unless ofcourse lately GCC media itself is making a big deal out of each one of these cases. Seriously cases of mistreatment gets headline news here because hoe much people hate it.

But ofcours your media only does it to feed the stereotyping more to promote even more hate.

Oh and btw. Oman is not an oil country its main income is the strait at the end of the gulf. While you do not hear from Bahrain is because its media wont report such things now since they already had a disaster to their reputation some time ago and do not want to inflate that.
