The State of Kuwait broke a Guinness World Record by organizing .the biggest firework show in the world. Kuwait fired last night 77,282 firework projectiles in the biggest ever firework show in the world, to mark the 50th anniversary of its national Constitution.

Carim Valerio, the representative of the Guinness World Record, handed a relevant distinction certificate to Undersecretary of the Amiri Diwan, Abdulaziz Ishaq, during the event the festive celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Kuwait's Constitution started Saturday afternoon on the coastal Gulf Road, with large numbers of Kuwaiti citizens joining in.

The sky of Kuwait was lit up with a terrific fireworks display, along with vessels and boats giving an accompanying show in the waters of the Arabian Gulf. The festival also featured artistic and sports activities, with light and laser shows amazingly reflecting on .Kuwait Towers and nearby buildings in synchronization with music. Furthermore, excerpts of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's speech to the nation earlier in the day were broadcast, as the National Anthem was played with - green, red, white and black - the colors of the Kuwaiti flag adorning the Kuwait Towers. Colorful flags and patriotic banners decorated all of the Gulf Road, which was closed to cars and vehicles, thus giving way to people on foot only.

Kuwait's constitution was issued on November 11, 1962 upon a decree from the then - Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, the 11th ruler of Kuwait.
