No, the other side managed to control those borders, they never managed and the US was the one doing so prior to their withdrawal end 2011. Neither is the FLIR equipment even available, the border is too long to be protected without the needed technology and fences.
The other side didn't manage to control a damn my dear boy. Prior to the Syrian crisis, Iraq's PM accused Syria of letting radical elements in from Syria's boarders. If the US was responsible for protecting the boarders, then how can you explain the infiltration of terrorists from Syria's boarders to Iraq.
Here is what some Western intelligence agencies had to say on that:
Shiite fighters from Iraq a growing legion in support of Syria's Assad - UPI.com
And this is what US officials say about Iraq supporting Assad:
Iraq, siding with Iran, sends “lifeline to Assad” - The Washington Post
And here is what the CIA had to say about Iraq's involvement in the Syrian war:
Al Qaeda 'rat line' from Syria to Iraq turns back against Assad - Washington Times
Yes deny entry which will anger them which will have consequences
Nothing of any sort. The Turks have done it without scrambling a jet of their air force, this excuse is pathetic.
it’s quite close to a declaration of war in Iraq’s case being their only airspace entry to Syria right now and with the current weak Iraqi military and all I don’t think that’s an option,
As a matter of fact, violating Iraq's sovereign air space is a declaration of war, and condemned by the international community. All Iraq can do, just like the rest, is not to grant them an excess.
we aren’t Qatar with US protection
Realistically speaking, The US has done a great favor to Iraqis by setting them free off Sadam's grip, and to this day, they remain an ally that in case of any act of aggression against Iraq, the US will come a long we to defend you.
That’s why FM gave them a good reply, they can use Iraqi airspace to halt Iranian flights. They can do so from Jordan, only requires a few F16’s + E2/E3.
The reply the FM of Iraq came up with is pathetically laughable.
If they could they would keep terrorists entering from Syria out, which they are trying as you can see on the war on ISIL thread but they don’t always succeed that is again because of #1. Lack of the required technology.
You've got tanks, armor vehicles, and helicopters to intercept massive escort of both militants like a piece of cake.
Now can we start about your terrorism ?
We openly stated that we support the FSA. There is nothing you can do about it.

Besides keep in mind ~2 million refugees from Iraq were in Syria prior to the war there, most liwa abu fadl & asaib are from those refugees.
