I made same analysis about Iran-Portugal. Keeper perfect, defence perfect, azmoun should have been changed after first half.
Ronaldo was nothing today, Iranian defence gave him a lesson.

KSA is not an counter-attacking team. KSA had almost 60% of the possession against a world class team like Uruguay and more shot on goals. The same against Egypt and guess what, even against Russia.

The problem of KSA was 2 very bad goalkeepers in the two first games (Uruguay's SOLE shot on goal was a huge goalkeeping mistake during a corner kick = failed to clear the ball), a freak first game where the defense slept for most of the time, and a lack of ability to converting changes unto goals. KSA has had over 40 shots on goal in those 3 games. Among the most of all teams in the World Cup.

Actually a combination of KSA (technique, team play, quick players) and Iran (great goalkeeper, strong defense and a strong collective) would be a perfect combination for an Asian team. If you ask me. BTW I predicted that Iran could draw against Portugal a few days ago in another thread.

BTW there are rumors in the media that the Russian team was doped against KSA and Egypt due to them beating all records in the World Cup when it comes to short high-dynamic sprints. Not saying that this was definitely the case but with Russia's history of doping and that statistic, it is a bit suspicious. I am sure that next time KSA and Russia met again, it will be an even game as all other previous ones between KSA and Russia.

BTW congratulations for Iran for the draw against Portugal. Great fighting spirit that many Arab teams could learn from although Morocco showed it today against Spain as well by drawing 2-2.
