Some exciting news (to put it mildly);

In short;

ARAMCO has been expanding its presence along the Red Sea coastline and at the end of the 2018, KSA's capacity of oil exports can in theory reach 15 million barrels of crude oil per day which is a huge number.

Likewise 100 billion barrels of crude oil have been discovered in the Saudi Arabian Red Sea waters.

In 2016, KSA expoted 7.1 million barrels per day of crude oil.

Most advanced reservoir modeling technology

cq5dam.web.690.388.jpeg

Dr. Ali Dogru leading work with the TeraPOWERS team.

In 2016, we achieved the industry’s first trillion-cell simulation and hydrocarbon migration algorithm, run on the latest evolution of our POWERS (parallel oil and water enhanced reservoir simulator) technology.

cq5dam.web.356.263.jpeg

Our TeraPOWERS team ran the industry's first trillion-cell simulation and hydrocarbon migration algorithm.

We developed POWERS in-house, and at the time of its first deployment in 2000, it was capable of million-cell models. In 2010, we unveiled GigaPOWERS, which ran billion-cell models.

Now, the development of TeraPOWERS will make it possible to model the physics of hydrocarbon reservoirs from their original generation to their final production, from microscopic rock pore scale all the way to giant field and even basin scale.

cq5dam.web.356.263.jpeg

The insights generated by TeraPOWERS, combined with data gleaned from core samples, allows for more precise drilling.

The breakthrough model was made possible through collaboration with the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), located north of Jiddah on the Red Sea.

TeraPOWERS will help prioritize prospects, reduce exploration risks and costs, and enable us to sustainably manage the Kingdom’s oil and gas resources for future generations.

ARAMCO is doing a tremendous job. Can't be underestimated.

This news is going to cause constipation to the hypocrites.

Time to repost an old post of mine to give that barking minority an even bigger constipation that will result in hemorrhoids or something worse!

"1) One of the biggest sovereign wealth funds on the planet (4th place and worth 700 billion USD)

2) 1-2 trillions USD worth of investment abroad

3) Enormous untapped resources (oil, gas, minerals etc., incredible potential for renewable energy (solar and wind etc.) that 95% of all countries worldwide can not compete with.

4) Praised economic reforms in the past 2-3 years by IMF and other organizations and very promising non-oil/gas growth (this year almost 15 USD billion more than expected) and economic growth despite unprecedented economic reforms in the modern era and falling oil prices (although I read that they were back to 70 USD per barrel earlier today)

In fact KSA is so "bankrupt" that;

6) The largest ever state budget for this year was implemented 3 weeks ago.

In fact KSA is so "bankrupt" that

7) 4.700 + infrastructural projects worth almost 1 trillion USD (1) are underway currently.

In fact KSA is so "bankrupt" that

8) KSA is the fourth least indebted country in the world!

In fact KSA is so "bankrupt" that

9) a new technological and strategic city (project) worth 500 billion USD (!) called NEOM was inaugurated this year. A project which will be built in a area the size of middle-sized European country almost!

10)

Did I mention that the unemployment rate fell 5.8% for the 3rd quarter of last year?

So let's stick to facts.

The reason why a tourism sector (real one) is opening up is due to the promising Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 (google that as well)

http://vision2030.gov.sa/en

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saudi_Vision_2030

and the amazing potential for tourism in KSA which is already one of the top 15 most visited countries on the planet as well as simple logic. The combination of Hajj, Umrah, KSA' geography and all that KSA can offer is a combination that few countries can compete with.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Tourism_rankings

So yeah, we are struggling BIG time. "Bankrupt" very, very soon.

Oh, did I mention uranium exploration (KSA is estimated to have one of the largest uranium reserves in the world and is going to built at least 16 nuclear reactors by 2030). With Chinese cooperation among many others.

KSA will master the entire "nuclear energy process" as I mentioned above within less than 2 decades if not sooner. So it is not a question if but when. KSA will be like Japan and South Korea by then by all accounts. Nuclear weapons are old technology anyway. "Even" the likes of NK with outside help (granted) but hardly any economy can accomplish it. So no big deal really. The political aspect is the most challenging one which is why Rick Perry (Minister of Energy in the US) has been pressuring KSA to pick the US option (visited recently) and for KSA to sign the "123 agreement" which most regional countries have signed but KSA refused to do so. Very wisely.

No coincidence that China is involved with the uranium drilling and that a deal was just signed with Russia."

Saudi foreign reserves rise for third straight month

Reuters Staff

DUBAI (Reuters) - The Saudi Arabian central bank’s foreign reserves rose in December for a third consecutive month, a sign that higher oil prices may be easing pressure on the government’s finances, official data showed on Sunday.

The bank’s net foreign assets grew $2.0 billion from November to $488.9 billion last month, after increasing $1.0 billion in November and $8.3 billion in October. It was the first time since mid-2014 that the reserves have risen for three straight months.

Detainees held at Saudi Arabia’s Ritz-Carlton released or moved, 56 remain in custody: Attorney General
ARAB NEWS | Published — Tuesday 30 January 2018

The Ritz Carlton in Riyadh (Reuters)

DUBAI: The Saudi Arabian Attorney General, Sheikh Saud Al-Mojeb, said on Tuesday that 56 corruption suspects remained in custody out of the 381 high profile figures detained on graft allegations.
He said he decided to release all those proven not guilty, as well as others who had agreed financial settlements with the government after admitting to corruption allegations.
Mojeb said the total settlements with the suspects had topped $130 billion, which came in various forms of assets.
News broke earlier on Tuesday that Saudi authorities had released all remaining detainees from Riyadh’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel, which had been used as an interrogation center in a crackdown on corruption, according to a Saudi official.
“There are no longer any detainees left at the Ritz-Carlton,” the official told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity under briefing rules.
He did not say how many suspects remained in detention at other locations in Saudi Arabia. Some are believed to have been moved from the Ritz to prison after refusing to admit wrongdoing and reach financial settlements with the authorities.
He said those who remained in custody were still under investigation as the legal procedures continued.
Among top businessmen caught up in the purge were Prince Alwaleed, owner of global investor Kingdom Holding, and Waleed Al-Ibrahim, who controls influential regional broadcaster MBC.
MBC said the investigation found Ibrahim completely innocent of wrongdoing and Prince Alwaleed has insisted he is innocent, although Saudi officials said both men agreed to settlements after admitting unspecified “violations.”
In an interview with Reuters at his suite in the Ritz-Carlton hours before he was released on Saturday, Prince Alwaleed said he had been well-treated in custody and described his case as the result of a misunderstanding.
He showed off the comforts of his suite’s gold-accented private office, a dining room and a kitchen which was fully stocked with his preferred vegetarian meals.
The hotel has 492 guest rooms and suites and 52 acres (21 hectares) of landscaped gardens, according to its website. It has said it will reopen to the public in mid-February, with a nightly rate for its cheapest room of $650.

You might get banned if you continue to post such heart wrenching stuff.

:rofl::omghaha::lol:

I know bro. Need to be careful like the elusive Arabian leopard. Might disappear again for some time or turn "pink" if you know what I mean here.

Here is a bit more. Just in. Can't help myself and down with a flu so I have PLENTY of time.

BTW positive news aside, there is a lot of work to be done and one should never rest. KSA is just at the very beginning of its development. Young nation (relatively) and all. 30 years wasted due to the Sahwa cretins etc. A LOT of time has been wasted. Goes for many Arab countries. But we (the young generation) will change this. Already doing it and I could not be happier. Leading from the front (MbS - so far at least). Hopefully the Yemen war will end soon as well so we can focus 100% on what is important.

. . .
@Saif al-Arab

I will pm you my bank account number. Make it a good number amount.

I am a generous man and always at your service bro, but I believe (and certainly hope and expect) that additional money to go the the development of the country and people. Some might be eaten by the usual suspects but nowadays much less than before due to the ongoing changes and MbS being a "special fish" in the ocean a bit like me. That's also why I like him so much. He is bold too. I like bold people.

However I might send you something but you need to open up the door for investments in Pakistan in return.

Imagine for a second if people spent time on business and improving status quo on all possible fronts rather than wasting it on social media and other "useless" endeavors (at the end of the day) like most do today. Forums like PDF should be used to do exactly such things.

I will give you a small example.

On a quite large Arab forum (mostly Saudi Arabians but not only) people were talking about the environment. Suddenly a user from KSA mentioned seeing trees being cut off by farmers, hunters and other opportunists recently. He suggested opening a donation to replant those trees and add more new ones. Before that he started a major Twitter hashtag that got the attention of the ministry of water, environment and agriculture ( those guys below https://www.mewa.gov.sa/en/Pages/default.aspx ) and before they knew it, (1-2 weeks after) people (civilians) were already planting trees in Riyadh and various other parts of the country. Quite beautiful.

4m trees to be planted in Saudi Arabia by 2020

A file photo of a tree planting campaign in Jeddah. (SPA)

JEDDAH: The Ministry of the Environment, Water and Agriculture aims to plant 4 million trees in the Kingdom by 2020, its undersecretary for environmental affairs, Osama bin Ibrahim Faqiha, told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
In a workshop organized by the ministry with the participation of agriculture officials, he said the campaign aims to achieve sustainable growth in forests and pastures, rehabilitation of vegetation cover, sustainable management of natural resources, and the best use of irrigation water.
Faqiha pointed to controls in terms of suitable places for planting, and protection against grazing and trespassing.
He said the Kingdom has more than 2,500 kinds of plants, with the diversity aided by its climate and terrain.
Faqiha said planting 4 million trees is only the beginning. The ministry plans to provide 6 million seedlings for public and private companies, in order to maintain sustainability in agriculture and preserve the types of trees that are suitable for the local environment.
He said the first stage of the campaign will involve planting 300,000 seedlings in the regions of Riyadh, Al-Qassim, Hail, the Northern Border, Asir, Makkah, Tabuk, Madinah and Al-Baha.

An additional 3 million trees will/are being planted along roads in KSA.

ARAMCO is doing a tremendous job. Can't be underestimated.

Unfortunately with today's tech its not possible to extract 100% of the oil in oil fields . I think in the best case you can extract 20-30% of that which is still amazing . that means extra 7 years of oil production with current production rate of SA .

.
Lol, Saudi Arabia should have been an energy super power. But it’s a lazy country with very minimal industrial and military power.

What a joke lol

ARAMCO (world pioneer along with a few others in the petrochemical and dare I say even chemical sector) are working on changing that and already progress has been clearly visible. A lot of it is not made public. Likewise this news was not given the publicity that it might have been given as well as older findings (not that long ago). My theory is that it is a leverage. Oil-hungry China and Europe versus the US and Russia who want their shares to remain. There is a lot of politics involved and which is also why I laugh when people say that for instance KSA and Russia relations are bad. KSA and Russia's interests in that field alone, probably outweighs most of that country's (Russia) interests with most other partners.

Having said that, KSA is moving away from oil at a very promising rate (take a look at the data of the recent state budget for this year, highest ever in history) and you will see that.

This is an additional bonus my friend but we will take it.

What an "enlightening", rather ignorant comment. Control your butthurt and you have seen nothing yet.

Read post 2 in this thread as well. Let's talk in 10 years time, shall we? OK? Now bye for now.

BTW KSA is already a "energy superpower" (whatever that is) and already a major regional military power. Yemen intervention (largest of its kind by any regional country) says hello but whatever. Can't reason with ignorants.

News like this will effect on oil prices so at hard times for oil producers we don't see news about discovery of new fields . it means 60-70$ per barrel now is ideal price for SA .

We also have habit of keeping things secret for proper time :partay: .

It's the way to do it and knowing that Arabs are famous for being "hustlers" and street smart when it comes to trade in general (Souq culture I call it or in Iran probably Baazari - insert some Persian expression if the same is the case in Iran). But yeah, it's the smartest thing to do and Russia is guilty of it as well and others.

I think that the new state budget of KSA (largest in history), oil prices as low as 40$ per barrel have been budgeted with. So that is quite impressive. Speaking about oil, gas and whatever other resources that much of the Arab world and Iran have been blessed with (as well as tons of other countries), it's both been a blessing and a disease (Dutch disease and everything) at the same time.

Just take a look at the state of Venezuela (even bigger oil reserves than KSA), practically all of Sub-Saharan Africa, 40 million big Algeria (that could be the KSA or GCC of the Maghreb yet fails tremendously, probably the most incompetent Arab regime together with the Syrian one by all objective accounts - Syria does not even have close to Algeria's resources or population though), all Central Asian states and tons of other countries and regions of the world.

Taking this into account, KSA and the GCC has done more than well. Iraq did very well in the 1970's and 1980's as well (pioneer in the region) but wars and certain regimes (people) destroyed that. Just like I would claim has occurred in Iran on certain fronts. You probably know that the Mullah's ruling Iran are not my favorite rulers in the world. No disrespect. I am sure that most Iranians feel the same about many Arab regimes.

KSA is floating on Oil .. Rich land bless by Allah where his beloved Prophet Muhammad pbuh was born and once walked .. :smitten:This is blessing of Allah for the land he hold Sacred .. JazakAllah Khair

All the best to Pakistan as well bro. Let's continue to strengthen the 5000 year old relations (Dilmun, Magan, Sumer etc. and IVC) and kickstart something promising.

BTW oil is just a few of the many resources that KSA is floating on. In fact the entire Arabian Peninsula and much of the Arab world. Geology and all. Or divine intervention. Probably a combination.;)

Yes ,Arabs in general are known for being smart/good traders but you are not good nation builders ( sorry to say that ) . I think in nation building aspect we are little bit ahead of SA and both of us still way behind the west .

Venezuela have big problems with ideology of the west and some of their biggest oil fields are under 10km under sea . they are a few companies that have ability to make profitable oil production in their conditions possible. these companies are belong to the west .
They rely heavily on oil for building their economy .surviving under the nose of one the biggest empires in world's history was not a easy task for Venezuela till now .

Critics of our country are GOD given gifts for us  . its like job of white hat hacker who find bugs in your software or website and reporting it to you . of course there will be side effects in short term but at the end they will immune our system .
