KP government funded 150 kW Micro Hydro Power Project completed

Yr, I am not talking about media advertisements, but at least media should have covered this great development like they do every time in Punjab even for a failed project like Nandi Pur.
I think there is something wrong with PTI here, they should highlight these types of work in Media, specially there MNA's should talk about these things in talk show's again and again like noora's do with their failed projects.

Agreed.

Vow amazing (Total 900 kW), which is even less than 1MW, great achievement.

Great going KPK and the naya Pakistan.

So they will take 5 years for less than 1MW generation.

"Koi sharam hoti hai, koi haya ati hai"
And another thing is most of the people in KPK are living in small towns and villages near small rivers and water sources and KPK Govt has exploited and made these small projects to give cheap electricity to these people so regardless to that how much electricity is being generated through these projects the main thing is people living nearby villages are benefiting from this and getting uninterrupted and cheap electricity.

I want to add one more point, for villages located in mountainous areas supplying electricity from main grid will be tough job and expensive too, so these small dams will serve them well by providing quick and cheap electricity, i believe its a win win situation for both KPK gov and for peoples too.

Great Development, And I wonder there has been no media coverage for that.
Pakistan's electricity shortfall is near 7,000 MW which is the equivalent of 7,000,000 kW.

Do you understand why this is insignificant in the grand scheme of things? We need projects that create MW not KW.

At least they are working, short projects which will actually work unlike Nandi Pur and several other solar projects are more beneficial. Don't you understand this simple mechanism? even a kid would do.

Maybe you don't understand the term 'micro hydel' and its purpose. These projects are set up around communities in far flung areas where there's no electricity infrastructure and are without electricity. These projects are off-grid solutions for communities who if kept waiting for the 'bigger dams' would remain in the dark for decades to come.

These projects directly impact the down-trodden segment of the society. This should be emulated all over the country specially in Balochistan.

.
Good to see progress, but these are micro hydel projects. People should not be expecting them to power the whole of Pakistan. They are intended to provide electricity to far-off, sparsely populated regions of KP. The video's description says "approximately 350 households to benefit from it". No one is claiming that this is a mega-project.

. . .
good stuff but no need to get worked up over a 150kW plant.
they should work for numerous 2-5MW hydro plants in up river and high altitude areas in KP for effective results.

.
kw? are you guys serious? I was expecting news on world's largest QA 1000 mw solar plant. And you have started mentioning kws!!, Anyways lil off topic, but how much would a unit cost if we produce electricity by regular gasoline household generator?

Thank you for your concern but i was responding to the question about why the project isn't being covered by the national media.

@Foxtrot-Bravo Thank you for repeating PTI talking points. I'll turn on ARY if i'm interested in hearing about nandi pur again.
