PESHAWAR: The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) signed the Circular Railway Project worth $1.6 billion WITH China Communication and Construction Company Ltd here at the chief minister’s secretariat.

It is being called as the major step of the provincial government towards mass transit integrating the major cities of the province. The project would have the space to be further expanded to areas and commercial hubs and industrial zones throughout the province. It is would also resolve the transportation problems and generate jobs leading to the overall economic revival of the province.

This is a good start by PTI...they did take a while to get their head aroind things...

Now lets see if they can actually build it...(caz i have my doubts)

$1.6 billion? This look like huge project.

It is two at least two years late. I can see the incompetency of the Pervaiz Khattak. However it is a good project and it is a good step to get it done by a Chinese company since they have a reputation of completing projects in record time.
army was doing operations in neighbouring areas of the circular railway system,so the delays are acceptable.

Now this is something interesting. That's the thing which will be a positive point for PTI however its too late.

Currently the feasibility is starting and after the feasibility is finished then the actual Price Tag will be known. I think if it is approved then it will still take 2-3 years to complete and the finishing date will be around 2020-22.

Lets see once the feasibility is finished.

Good move by KP govt . I wish PTI start these developmental project way back in 2013 and Pervaiz Khattak not wasted time in Darna,s because he was elected C.M of KP first and then PTI.
By the way good move .keep it up

Better late then never. I'm pretty sure PTI will win next election in KPK again. They are doing good job there. Looks like PTI were able to bring real change in education and police.
