Pakhtuns are the most political savy lot in Pakistan. They gave chance to MMA, didn't deliver, kick them out in next election and brought in ANP, that didn't work either and come next election PTI was given chance.

The Pashtuns and Baloch were the ruling caste of the region class..The Punjabi were diverse and dominated martial, trade and craft skills but lacked political maturity.. and most sindhis were the lowest caste..simlar to Dalit and Shodar in India..Hence why Bhutto is alive in Sindh..as due to abolition of caste system created ideological vacuum in their society which was well exploited by Bhutto.

The US hasn't officially reacted to the FATA merger, but they are hell bent opposed to this development. The Yanks are anxiously following the developments. The US has chosen to hide behind Afghan displeasure. It has tremendous ramifications for the US war in Afghanistan. The Yanks are in favor of divide on ethnic and religious grounds. It is no secret how hard the Yanks have been working on this front. This merger is a nightmare come true for the USA.

The FATA merger is a huge win win and long overdue.
