People of the North and South are Indians, they fought the same British and both are dependent on each other for food, trade, jobs, and security. With every passing year, the union gets stronger as more trade and exchange of people happen.

With or without Brits India would've eventually get conquered and unified by a kingdom. We have been unified for centuries under single kingdoms in the past, playing alternative history anything could happen and I like my version.
