Kolar din't want to let him go

There!!!

I'm surprised that CM of a state would make such an impetuous statement ;calling it a suicide without investigation is definitely impetuous.
One of my cousin sister who holds a senior position in a govt office was once threatened by sand Mafia (which is rampant in kerala), her family was so frightened that they asked her to take long leave and she was then dispatched to Dubai. This is how it usually ends for honest officers.
And you're right sand/land Mafia guys definitely have political backing.

they give them their hafta , it happens in every government office.

i hope you know her ,

Doesn't seem to be but the Police Commissioner seemed unusually sure that it seemed a case of suicide. Maybe there is something that is not being revealed publicly.
I will call it death under mysterious circumstances. I mean unless they don't have a proof how can they be sure it's a suicide.
Even if it is a suicide it's a loss for the ppl who loved and respected him.
May he rest in peace!

.
you misunderstood bro , its not a suicide , he was clearly murdered and now police is trying to cover it up as a suicide , but lets wait and see. I hope CBI probes this because state level politicians could be involved in this.
I assumed if it is suicide then does it make to probe who force him to do so ? Forcing someone to suicide is serious criminal offence & I think this matter goes to CBI who take 3 to 3 decade to prosecute the culprit.

Nope I didn't know about her either.

Too many conspiracy theories that will not make any sense. The Home Minister is a fairly decent chap & there can be no raids on any real estate firms that the officer could have carried out because he was posted in the Commercial Tax department and that certainly wasn't part of his job.

i must admit i know little about how govt bureaucracy works , was watching news and they were reporting that he was planning to raid some real estate firms since they were evading tax. But the swiftness with which police and CM jumped to declare it as a suicide certainly raises a doubt.

Doesn't matter what anyone calls it. It will be the police alone that can decide that. While it is undoubtedly sad, we don't know the facts that might have existed. The Police Commissioner is a fairly competent officer with a good reputation. We would have to tarnish everyone & raise only one up. Unless we have a determination that this is a case of murder, there is no point going there. To suggest that the sand mafia or anyone else who disliked what he did in Kolar got him killed is not based on how things work. He was already transferred out & was posted in Bangalore, makes no sense to go after him. He was not the top dog in the commercial tax department, so makes no sense to go after him on any official reasons there too. There are 100's of IAS officers who are around & functioning, not like everyone of them is corrupt.

But the swiftness with which police and CM jumped to declare it as a suicide certainly raises a doubt.

Most likely because they have good reasons. Not everything is revealed publicly including because the family might want it kept private. They are too senior to get into this matter without some understanding.

Ok , but a CBI inquiry would make things much clearer....bcz what if the other angle is true.

May the great soul attain moksha.

I was also threatened once to write a fake injury report, I didn't budge. They made it through some other doctor. Never deviate from the righteous path.thats what my parents taught me.

This is dharma of every one....

RIP, India is full of criminals, I doubt one of them is responsible for his suicide or murder :-(

Revenge!
When you loose money in crores then such wounds don't heal easily.
He was not the top dog in the commercial tax department, so makes no sense to go after him on any official reasons there too.
Or may be that was the reason he was killed.
It's always easier to take down the pawns!
Btw i don't think this man could've been bracketed among the average officers, he was making it to the headlines for his work.

I admire the way you don't let emotions effect your rational thinking.
Yes, if he had suicided because of some trivial family issues then his family would want to keep this private. But
1) he was an intelligent officer to know that hanging himself to the ceiling fan without leaving a suicide note would land his family in trouble.
2) Nothing suggests that he wanted to commit suicide. His statements a week prior to his death infact point at a fact that he was being threatened.

Anyways let 'em investigate.

R.I.P sir... those perpetrators who are behinf his death shoulf be punished, but i highly doubt if that ever happens in this nation... :(

It’s not often that people launch a protest to prevent an IAS officer from being transferred out of their district, but D.K. Ravi, during his tenure as Deputy Commissioner in Kolar, had won so many hearts that the people of Kolar came out on the streets to protest his transfer in November 2014.

A committee was formed to organise public opinion against the transfer. Thousands stormed the Deputy Commissioner’s office on November 5 demanding that Mr. Ravi continue at least for some time so that he could complete the good works that he had taken up in public interest.

Though he worked for just over one year in the district, he became popular for cracking down on the sand mafia and evicting encroached government lands and tanks much to the dislike of politicians.

He set an example by partaking food in the house of a Dalit woman on Gandhi Jayanti last year to mark his protest against untouchability.

Ravi had initiated several measures to address problems faced by people. He came out with the concept of “Revenue adalat” and “Podi adalat” to resolve the grievances pertaining to agricultural land. Farmers who had to run from pillar to post for demarcating their lands, got the job done at their doorsteps. The initiative helped in settling several land disputes. The government has now decided to emulate the model across the State. If people are to be believed, Ravi’s uncompromising stance on protecting public properties and quality of development works, led to his transfer.

His transfer proposal had gained ground after he ordered clearance of land found to have been encroached by a realty firm.

Ravi used to conduct classes for IAS aspirants at T Chennaiah Rangamandira in Kolar every Sundays. His three-hour classes used to draw a large number of civil service aspirants. Several people from Kolar were in regular contact with Ravi even after his transfer.
