Firstly, the show's producer/anchor should be slapped. Why the hell would he invite Ali Azmat for comments on a socio-political issue. For such a topic, invite a right wing scholar (not column writer like Haroon Rashid, Javed Chaudhary etc) and a left wing scholar.

As Ali Azmat is a total nutter and thinks that he's a scholar after reading two wikipedia entries, a bunch of Alex Jones and zeitgeist youtube videos and some blog posts, he thinks that he knows all. The topic is "Have we become conservatives" and he's talking the NWO-Zionist conspiracy bullcrap.

I really feel sorry for Aasim Sajjad Akhtar, a brilliant scholar and the most articulate left wing writer in Pakistan. I really admire his temper, I would have shot myself after hearing Ali Azmat who mentions Operation Blue Tulsi - a chain mail that started five six years back. Man, he's an idiot.

Some of you might say that my or anybody else's criticism is invalid for he has freedom of speech, but I'm not saying that he shouldn't be allowed, I'm saying that he's talking crap. And crap deserves to be labeled crap and talking crap on television deserves criticism. Bringing a paper and a pen to scratch on it does not make it look like you're participating in a real debate. I really like your music (except the last album which was mostly crap), do what you are good at. Don't pollute your peanut sized brain with geo-politics.

Here's my friend's rant. I know it's over the top, extremely rude but it deserves a mention:-

Oh, Ali Azmat

Raise your hand if you loved Junoon. You know the band that made great music, sometimes borrowing Sufi poetry for lyrics? Weren’t they good?

Now raise your hand if you liked Ali Azmat. He of the long curly locks and exemplary vocals. Wasn’t he good?

Now, raise your hand if you ever wanted a member from a music group, known more for his hair than his brain to ever dabble in political analysis? No? Right.

Unfortunately, for all involved, Ali Azmat has decided that a cursory glance at the Bilderberg Group’s Wikipedia entry is reason enough for him to pontificate endlessly. The crazy he spouts makes the Jamaat-e-Islami look like the world’s greatest logicians and makes me want to watch hours of Hamid Mir to remove its memory.

Ali Azmat, please shut the **** up.

We know, we know. You’re tight with Zaid Hamid. He’s brilliant right? The greatest mind of our times in Pakistan? Unveiling endless covert threats to Pakistan on the basis of his thorough review of The Arrivals and Zeitgeist documentaries on YouTube, Zaid Hamid is indeed a legend. Perched atop a mountain of bullshit so high it makes cows everywhere blush for their digestive shortcomings, Zaid Hamid is a legend. I’m glad that his cynical plan of self promotion is working so well, since you are the highest profile dropping on which Zaid Hamid rests his behind.

So, Ali Azmat, please shut the **** up.

Really, Ali Azmat, seeing you on that Dawn News show with Aasim Sajjad was painful. You are inexplicably stupid. You make Imran Khan look like a neuroscientist and George W. Bush could probably run circles around in the SAT’s critical reading portion. To illustrate, allow me to reproduce a conversation you had:

Ali Azmat: “My areas of expertise – on which I’ve done a lot of research (read: have watched many YouTube videos on) – are the New World Order, Military Complex, Bilderberg Group, UN (WTF?). And I always keep an eye out for these things.”

Aasim Sajjad: “So you’re against the Military Complex? Even though you support military intervention in Pakistan? Don’t you think they have a massive complex?”

Ali Azmat: “WOULD YOU RATHER VOTE FOR THE INDIAN ARMY OR THE PAKISTAN ARMY?”

Me: Ali Azmat, please shut the **** up.

Ali Azmat, you are not a political analyst. You shoud not be a political analyst. In fact, you make all the idiots in Pakistan, who decide one fine day that they are political / constitutional / defence / culture analysts, look really really good.

You can barely string an argument together without looking like the veins in your neck are about to pop out. You can’t answer a simple question because you want everyone to know that you know about the New World Order. You really, really, want to hate on democracy by using Musharraf (FFS!) as your counterpoint. You want people to believe that you have something valid to say when Zaid Hamid says the same ****, says it better, and honestly is far more entertaining than you are now.

Most insulting of all though, you want to claim that having grown up with a Suzuki car and one air conditioner in your house makes your representative of Pakistan’s poor. Ali Azmat, more than 30% of Pakistan’s people live below the poverty line. Your Suzuki and one air conditioner would be positively decadent for them.

So, Ali Azmat, please, please, shut the **** up.

i know this guy personally lol i like him as a singer but he is surely a nut lol Salman is so much better than him as a person, so much easier to deal with.

Even though i agree with the content of the videos and your thoughts on this matter but it does not give you a right to humiliate or conduct personal attacks / comments on Ali Azmat whatsoever.

Everyone has a right to have their say openly and preach what they believe in & creating sarcastic jokes about them is not fair as you cant provide any element of negativity to his claims supported by proofs if you have any which makes you no different to the conspiracy theorists - its like two sides of the rope none has proofs but both claim to be Right !

Be civil & control your emotions fellow.
Thanks

.
Another person which will be a mixture of Zion Hamid & Imran Khan is in making, Two in One

EDIT:

Most insulting of all though, you want to claim that having grown up with a Suzuki car and one air conditioner in your house makes your representative of Pakistan’s poor.

Add a Zardari as well, now its Three in One

As I mentioned in my post, I was expecting such remarks. Anybody who comes out in the public sphere and says something deserves criticism. In this case, he spews venom and wikipeda-youtube-knowledge as "research" and can't control the NWO outbursts in a debate on "conservatism" both social and political. I bet he cannot understand what economic conservatism means.

As for proving his claims wrong:-

Firstly, the show wasn't even about the NWO. It didn't concern the NWO at all. Trained in the NWO-Zionist conspiracies, he brought out this BS.

Secondly, Bilderberg Group and Trilateral Commission. Seriously dude? What has that got to do with political and social conservatism? And the UN.

Thirdly, I'm sick of the youtube-documentary-wikipedia-and-three-short-blog-posts-I-know-everything crowd much like a lot of other people.

and Fourthly, there are something you should not even try to refute. They are so stupid that one should not even care trying to refute them. Bilderberg and Trilateral are in that territory.

My criticism is on the content that came out of his mouth. If I go on national television and start vomiting hatred against Ali Azmat, that will be outright wrong and unacceptable but something that we all know is the height of idiocracy, deserves to be labeled idiocracy and people must know that we are breeding a whole bunch of zeitgeist watching slaves not free thinkers.

PS:- I keep telling everybody here that badmouthing politicians is wrong and serves no purpose. Not a personal issue, but ever thought of that?

You seem to be on the right lines over here but i said what i felt was the right thing to say Criticizing a "person" is different from Criticizing "His views".

Bad names or jokes on a person must not be allowed but only on their knowledge or what they preach in public is criticizeable.

Example: If you would criticize me i would not change even if i would have been wrong the whole time but when you will prove what i think was false this is where you may hit the nail on the head.

Thanks

i find that in all of your threads sparkling away, anyone who doesnt have the same ideas as you do...you start bashing him, Ali Azmat is a good man and he has done more good for this country than you sir will ever do through these "rants"

uncle ji zara bolne tu de guest ko???ajeeb program hai host he bole jaa raha hai lol

the host clearly being in "dawn news", (who proved ajmal kasab a.k.a indian as pakistani is biased), and is bringing musharraf , zaid hamid blah blah blah

there fcuking people are bringing down pakistan and delebrately showing the world that pakistan has "some identity issues"

come on man, media cannot be so irresponsible.

every body is entitled to his views and just being the other side of the coin, he cant be labeled, foolish, uneducated, stupid etc etc

His views have received their fair share of criticism. There are somethings you cannot control and that includes the fact that I, like many others, cannot control voicing anger, speechlessness and annoyance at a certain event such as this one.

I should receive my fair share of criticism and can accept that happily.

Topic: Are Pakistanis Conservative?

Ali Azmat: New World Order, Hell yeah, lets pull out a guitar Solo on NWO

yeah among down newspaper writers a.k.a 2 paisa/taka writers i dislike paracha guy the most, he was not right in his head before, even i dont know him, now indians based F paracha fans try to post his stupid articles and we know a severe mental illness suffered by some writters here!!, in his profile he has a picture of a smoking idiot, maybe this guy smokes weed a lot!!

I do not agree with IK's political views. I left his party. I do not bash him all the time. Everybody has his place. Ali Azmat's place is well deserved in the music world, not in the "analyst" world.

You are free to criticize me and my rants. I do not voice my annoyance over this for there shouldn't be any.

Debate, dissent, pluralism and reasoning constitute a democratic culture and a democratic society. But that does not mean one cannot criticize the opinions that originate in a pluralistic environment, especially ones that do not make any sense and only add to the confusion of a uneducated youth that seems to never have come across the concepts of logic and reasoning.
