Khawaja Asif tweets ill-timed message linking PTI lockdown to Quetta

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif issued a cryptic message on Twitter, hinting at “coordination” between the Quetta and Peshawar attacks, the firing along LoC by Indian forces and Imran Khan’s claims to ‘attack’ Islamabad.

While many took to twitter to condemn the attack on Police Training College in Quetta, Asif took the opportunity to take a jibe at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan. Asif said, “India attacks LOC & working boundary. Quetta & Peshawar attacked from Afghanistan. IK preparing to attack Islamabad .Accidental coordination?”

Imran also didn’t miss the opportunity to hit out at Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Condemning the Quetta attack, the PTI chief claimed India was involved in creating chaos in Pakistan to sabotage moves against corruption.

He went on to claim that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had become a “security risk” for the country.

“When Balochistan Chief Minister is saying that India was involved in sabotaging law and order in the province then why does our prime minister not raise his voice on the issue on global forums,” he questioned.

“The PM failed to raise the issue of RAW’s terror financing in Pakistan and the arrest of its agent Kul Bhushan Yadav from Balochistan during his UN visit.”

Earlier, the cricketer-turned-politician claimed that Nawaz had become a security risk for the country in the current circumstance as the prime minister was only interested in saving himself from the accountability in wake of the Panama Papers revelations. “His only aim is to save himself from the repercussions of the revelations regarding his corruption in Panama leaks,” he said.

The PTI leader demanded the government to highlight the names of those government officials who were involved in leaking the crucial information regarding a high-level security meeting in Islamabad.

At least 61 security personnel were killed, and 165 others were injured as terrorists stormed a police training centre near Quetta late Monday night.

Nawaz Sharif is a security risk for Pakistan, there is no doubt in that. He has vested interests all outside Pakistan and he will protect them at the cost of Pakistan. Jibe or not IK raised important points. Nawaz never raised the issue of Indian sponsored terroism inside Pakistan at UN. He did not mentioned Kul Bhushan and high level security meetings are leaked to the press to marginalise security institutions of Pakistan.
Also this is too much of a coincidence that every time Nawaz corruption is highlighted and protests are on the way, something like this happens and then all the sudden all news is diverted from Panama to that particular incident. PML minus Nawaz should be allowed to continue till 2018. Nawaz needs to go.

What do you think would have happened had NS raised India's terror activities, everyone knows it no one is going to come and help you, you need to help yourself. How can terror attacks help the government? In other countries continous terror attacks mean government is unable to provide security and has to go. In Pakistan it means the other way around?

BTW the reason PMLN deosnt want to have operation in southern punjab is because that would gravely hurt their vote bank.The people in question are sitting with the influentials there.

It is imperative to roadblock PTI agenda that is determined to take on Pakistan through Islamabad lockdown by planning to damage the capital of Pakistan. Last time PTI did through dharna in the year 2014 cost Pakistan economy more than 500 billion rupees. This time could cost more unfortunately with every anti-Pakistani elements including pro-TTP Lal Masjid's cleric joining together with Imran Khan against Pakistan.
