Every dog has its day, and Sikhs too were able to exert their control on Punjab and adjoining areas for a few decades in their 500 years history of miserable existence, but Sikhs were never able to conquer the Pasthun heartland. Even the best of armies have had bad days. The Tatars invaded and conquered all Muslim land and everything in between eventually becoming Muslim.
