Do you guys know that Akali's and BJP are ally in Punjab for so many years....This shows the sentiment of so called right wing nationalist Hindus with right wing sikhs of Punjab....Khakistan is a issue mostly in Canada and UK sikh population....But it is a dead concept in Punjab...

The original Khalistan movement indeed was backed by the ISI and Bhutto did sell them out. That being said, a militant Khalistan movement was bound to fail.

The second wave Khalistan movement is being backed by the wealthy and politically powerful Sikh diaspora. They have the money and most important political power (especially in the UK and Canada) which they did not have in the 1980s.

A democratic Khalistan movement works in favour of Sikh seperatists. This is something Kashmiris have failed to pick up on, but lately I'm seeing a lot of support for both...Khalistan and Kashmiris both protested last year infront of the Indian High Consulate in London.

Kashmiris could learn a lot from Sikhs.
