Kerala mosque hosts Hindu wedding in exemplary show of communal amity

Best use I've seen a mosque put to for a while.
A mosque should be a sanctuary for all regardless of religious affiliation.
A commendable act by the worshippers that shows Islam in it's true light, and not the jaundiced version portrayed and liked by the self righteous and pious.
More interfaith dialogue and cooperation is the way forward.

We Muslim have shown this kindness and religious harmony with other religion and faith for thousand year in India and else where . when Muslim ruled India for thousands year non Muslim especially Hindu community hold most top position we never shown communal mentality like Hindu in today's India .

n the crowded premises of Cheravally Muslim Jamath mosque, Anju, daughter of Bindu and Ashokan, and Sarath, tied the knot in a ceremony that was lauded as an example of the kind of communal amity that prevailed in Kerala. The marriage was organised in a fully Hindu tradition; the bride, draped in a pink and gold sari, exchanged garlands with the groom, clad in white shirt and mundu, in the presence of a priest. A ceremonial tent was set up in the premises of the mosque to welcome visitors, and a vegetarian sadya was arranged.

Anju and Sarath tied the knot between 11:30am and 12:30pm. After the death of husband Ashokan two years ago, Bindu has been struggling with financial liabilities and was staying at a rented house with her three children. As she was struggling to source money to conduct daughter Anju's wedding, her neighbour, a Jamaath secretary, suggested she approach the Jamaath committee. Bindu did not worry about religious differences when she sought help, and the Jamaath committee was open to assistance. One of the members offered to bear the wedding expenses. Believers, who came for Friday prayers last week, were informed about this and they too lent their support.

The mosque committee will gift 10 sovereigns of gold and Rs two lakh to Anju as a wedding gift. The marriage will take place according to the Hindu rituals. We have also arranged food for around 1,000 people," secretary of Cheruvally Jamaat committee Nujumudeen Alummoottil told PTI.

"I've personally helped their younger child study. This time, the request was given to the mosque committee as the expenses for a marriage are quite high. So, the committee decided to assist the family," Nujumudeen said.

So Muslims helped get the poor widow's child get married! But no praises from India but all Pakistanis viewing this with suspecion?!

Kmon Islam says help widows and poor...doesnt say check if they are Muslim before helping!

As for using the Masjid's land...it was cheaper for them to do that then rent a hall! So they could spend more in other places!

I think it is a good act that MUSLIM community helped a poor....that is all it should be viewed as!

وَأَنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَدًا (18)

Meaning : And the Masjids Belong to Allah So , Don't Invoke some one along Allah.

Doing non Muslim stuff ia not allowed. The Hindus have rituals in their marriages about their Gods. Why would someone praise other Gods in the House of ALLAH?

For second part , I am warning you second time for use of such language about religion . You cannot prove your humanity by abusing religion .

You need to brush up on your understanding of both English and religion.
A mosque is only a building. What God values are actions. The whole point of religion is to make humans humane.
Over religious and self pious people generally can't see the wood for the trees.

I beg to differ. Our Muslim rulars were not that kind what you've read in your history...may be history you've read is distorted and customised

Fact is, Muslim rulers have razed thousands of temples to the ground, non-Muslims were paying tax, forced conversions were rampant so much so that the atrocities over one religion (Hindus) by Muslim rulers gave birth to another religion "Sikhs" (for their protection)...but their chiefs (Gurus) were also brutally tortured and massacred by Muslims as they refused to convert.
