Saravanan...
yes..i had a doubt about your so called Malayali Nair ancestry, especially in your rantings against Malayalis and poking fun of Kerala..
...i am living in Karnataka-Tamilnadu border,i have come across many of you in my day today life...nothing surprising...
I cant explain it here.... Sorry
nope...They don't have any nationalistic outlook...Their ideology is purely based on Marathi nationalism, just like K.R.V for kannadigas and dravida parties for Tamils...but S.S uses a hinduthwa mask in order to fool and get acceptance from outside Maharastra, especially from hyper sensitive hinduthwas of other states.(No wonder,Manvan(a Malayali) and you a Kannadiga became their great admires in this forum)....just look their rantings against south Indians in late 1960's,North Indians in 2008 and Kannadigas in 2011...it says more about their nationalistic outlook...
@possumlot the new was about the protest about an alledged dismissal... The Hindu never confirmed about the alledged dismissal of Tamil teachers.. These kind of rumours used to flourish during Mullapariar issue in Tamil Nadu like Tamilians were kicked by Keralaites etc etc.. These kind of allegations were used by regional parties to increase their strength and influence. Leave it as it is..
Local politics is ALL about making false allegations and protests, serious news papers do not cover them.
They only cover news which is verified by multiple agencies. Hindu is well know for verifying its news before printing it. Which is why sometimes it prints news a day later but that is also why it is a very credible news agency. You can hate them, you cannot ignore them.
The editor would verify that the reasons for protests were genuine before printing something this volatile. That is the meaning of responsible journalism. At most the number of teachers dismissed would be exaggerated. But you can be sure that if Hindu has printed it, a certain number of teachers were dismissed for being Tamil.
As I said, the news was about the protest not about the dismissal.. Hindu never confirmed whether the teachers were dismissed.. The news was about people protesting in the roads.. I am sure that it is under the regional news section in that paper..
You are going around in circles, Hindu will not print about the protests if the reasons for protests were not genuine at some level. They would have verified it by multiple source.
There are thousands of protests everyday, none of them make it to the Hindu.
The why Hindu mentioned the word "alleged dismissal".. Can you show me where they confirmed that the teachers were dismissed?? Hindu do a regional section in their newspapers where news of every state printed on papers which will be circulated on respective states.. You can find local news there from suicide, local protests and small accidents.. Its no biggie.
I cant explain it here.... Sorry
Because the legal office of any newspaper always give directions to the editorial staff to use the words alleged when reporting any inflammatory news article so that it can protect itself from a costly litigation. It is standard journalistic practice.
All charges in ANY newspapers is "alleged".
If Hindu was to report that the tamil teachers were dismissed by the kerala govt. then kerala govt. can file charges against the news paper and unlike the newspaper, the govt.. of the state has unlimited resources to destroy the news paper by tangling it in litigation or force it to print an apology which destroys the only real asset a newspaper has, Credibility.
All charges against Modi were also "alleged". Its a double edge sword.
Strawman argument mate.. If Hindu have proof, then why are they afraid? If Kerala government sues them, the news will be spread and every news paper in India will pick it.. Anyway let agree to disagree..
How can they have proof ? they are a news agency not an investigating and prosecuting agency. They would have First hand information and sometimes proof. Not all reports in newspapers are published after getting "proof". What a ridiculous assertion.
As I said, just agree to disagree..
