@mooppan

let's be honest, as long as BJP is in the centre, Kerala is going to receive zero anything.

@nair @Iggy @levina

So the Indian government banned the airing of the documentary.

Well, after every religious group in India had hurt their sentiments this was inevitable.

This is what happens when freedom of speech gets curtailed. Every film or documentary that is seen as remotely offensive will be taken out.

And the criteria will get more strict. It will be movies dealing with rape.

anything to avoid questioning or confronting hard questions

Modi writes to CMs, says states can change central schemes - The Times of India

I think the documentary got banned because it gives a platform for the rapist to defend himself.. You saw what he is saying.. There will be many here who will believe him and also the victims family were protested strongly against it.. They said it as a failure of Judiciary.

I also heard a statement which is a defence of the ban.

the guy is appealing his death penalty. This documentary may prejudice the proceedings.

BBC aired it at 10pm London time (3:30am IST),the idea was to air it to selective audience though the govt was preparing to not let anyone watch it on internet too.
The documentary maker said that she has never seen so many ppl come together to protest against gender equality (Thats the word she used) anywhere else in the world.

What do you expect government to do when there's so much outrage against it?

Also funny thing the people who themselves gave permission for the interview in first place are up in arms against the government demanding answers from them

Also please wake me up when bbc decides to do a documentary on 300 girls who've been serially molested for years in Oxfordshire where even the state mationary failed

Kerathilenganum beef ban cheythal,enteamachiyane sathyam,njan valla maoistum akum,paranjekam:-(

I don't know what you said but beef is not good for your cholesterol anyhow; so I support this ban ! :agree:

Stuffed chicken breasts with pineapple sauce here I come ! :smokin:

He said if they ban beef in Kerala, he will become a Maoist (called naxals who are left wing extremists).
