‘Suraksha-2013’ to begin on May 17

The state’s first-ever major defence expo will get under way here next week. The mega event, expected to have the participation of close to 20 defence laboratories from across the country, is aimed at creating awareness about self-reliance in defence.
Named ‘Suraksha-2013’, the National Defence Exhibition on Science and Technology Intervention, to be organised by the Swadeshi Science Movement, Kerala, in association with the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) will be held at Marine Drive Helipad Ground from May 17 to 19. The theme of the exhibition is ‘Indigenisation of Defence Technologies-Challenges and Opportunities.’
Industrial leaders and private entrepreneurs, along with members of the scientific community, will be participating in the event. The DRDO will exhibit technologies from its premier laboratories including the Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), Kochi, and the Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL), Mysore. Defence labs working in areas of food technology, life sciences, environment-related technologies, high-end engineering applications and bio-engineering will take part in the expo. In addition, defence industries will also showcase their product range and might at the event.
“More than just a defence expo, ‘Suraksha-2013’ is being planned as an event that deals with different aspects of national security, including the technological innovations made for the armed forces. We are expecting top defence officials, including the Scientific Advisor to the Defence Minister, to attend the three-day event. Since it is for the first time that a defence exhibition of such magnitude is being organised in the state, it would be an opportunity for the public and the students to familiarise with defence laboratories and their functioning,” said a top official.
Officials pointed out that ‘Suraksha-2013’ will be an exclusive event, comprising of an exhibition and seminar on defence technology. The exhibits will be in both static display and live demonstration.

എനിക്ക് ഈ ഹര്*ത്താല്* ആഹ്വാനം അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്* തുടങ്ങിയ സംശയം നമ്മുടെ രാജ്യത്തെ രാവും പകലും സംരെക്ഷിക്കുന്ന ITBF.CRPF,BSF,ASSAM RIFILES തുടങ്ങിയ ഇത്തരം സേനയെ പരിശീലിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനും താമസത്തിനും നമുക്ക് നമ്മുടെ രാജ്യത്ത് അല്ലാതെ മറ്റെവിടെ കൊണ്ടുപോകണം അതും കൂടി ഹര്*ത്താല്* പ്രായോജകര്* ഒന്ന് വ്യക്തമാക്കണം......
ഒരു വര്ഷം മുമ്പ് വരെ പെട്രോളിന് ഒരു രൂപ കൂടിയാല്* ഹര്*ത്താല്* നടത്തിയിരുന്നവര്* ഇന്നലെ രാത്രി പെട്രോളിന് ഒരു രൂപ കൂടിയത് അറിഞ്ഞു പോലുമില്ല.
ഹര്*ത്താല്* എന്ന് ആര് ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്താലും സ്വീകരിച്ചു വീട്ടില്* ഇരിക്കുന്നവര്* ഒരിക്കല്* കൂടി ചിന്തിക്കണം. ഇല്ലെങ്കില്* പരുക്ക് അവരവര്*ക്ക് തന്നെയാണ്. പോലീസുകാരുടെ ക്യാമ്പ് മര്*ദ്ദനം പോലെ പുറത്ത് കാണാത്ത പരിക്ക്.
