Couple of days back was the first anniversary of removal of special status for Kashmir. The Chinese gave the required pro-pak anti-India statement please show me any official Malaysian statement

They made their comments at the UNGA, they arent obligated to make announcements on any anniversary.

'Keeping quiet not an option': Imran thanks Mahathir for speaking against Indian injustices in IOK

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday thanked Mahathir Mohamad for again speaking in support of the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir, as the former Malaysian prime minister vowed to continue to raise the issue of New Delhi's "injustices" in the disputed region.

"I want to thank Dr Mahathir Bin Mohamad for speaking in support of Kashmiris and against Indian repression in IIOJK (Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir) — this time at a function on 8 Aug to mark a year of the illegal Indian actions in IIOJK," Imran wrote on Twitter.

His statement followed a series of tweets by nonagenarian Mahathir, who defended his right to speak up against India's human rights violations in occupied Kashmir, saying doing so would be to "stand up for humanity".

"I had chosen to speak out despite being aware of the potential backlash," Mahathir, 95, wrote, referring to his remarks at last year's United Nations General Assembly where he criticised India's "invasion" of occupied Kashmir. His criticism led to backlash from India, Malaysia's largest importer of palm oil, in the form of order cancellations and import bans.

"To my mind, keeping quiet is not an option when all the tell-tale signs were pointing towards another situation whereby a big and powerful country imposed its will with impunity on a small and defenceless nation," he said, referring to India's repression in occupied Kashmir.

Mahathir, who announced on Friday he was setting up a new political party as he seeks to take on the government, said the developments that transpired following his "contentious speech" at the UNGA "only served to prove that what I had said [was] mild and to a certain degree, restrained".

"I offer no apology for what I had said though I am sorry that it had affected our palm oil export to India. I don’t know if that is a high price to pay for speaking out against such injustices," he added.

He said now that he is no longer the prime minister "I take it that I can now speak without restrain and address the Kashmir issue without threats of boycotts and such".

Mahathir, the world’s oldest leader until his resignation in February, suggested he would speak about the issue at an event in Kuala Lumpur about “Kashmir's one year lockdown since August 5, 2019".

His remarks come three days after Pakistan observed Yaum-i-Istehsal (Day of Exploitation) on August 5 to mark one year since India revoked the semi-autonomous status of occupied Kashmir, split it into two federal territories and imposed strict movement restrictions and a communication blockade in the region.

Speaking at the UNGA in Septemeber, Mahathir had said that despite UN resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir, the territory had been invaded and occupied.

“There may be reasons for this action but it is still wrong. The problem must be solved by peaceful means. India should work with Pakistan to resolve this problem,” he had stressed.

He had also criticised a new citizenship law in India that excludes Muslim immigrants. In retaliation for his comments, India, the biggest buyer of Malaysian palm oil for five years, put curbs in January on purchases from Kuala Lumpur.

Mahathir had later defended his criticism of India, saying although Malaysia was concerned about India’s curbs on imports of palm oil after the diplomatic row, he would continue to speak out against “wrong things” even if it cost his country financially.

We don't need the rest of the Islamic countries, alhamdulilah we have friends in Turkey, Malaysia, and Afghanistan who will stand with us through thick and thin.

Dr. Mahathir Mohammad is a man of Jannat, may Allah swt shower him with blessings. I don't have any more words to express my thanks.

Thank you sir, and Allah swt bless Malaysia.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad

The only two countries in the world who defied their trade interests with India to support Pakistan were Turkey and Malaysia under Mahathir Mohammed..

It should tell you that not EVERYTHING is for sale...

We have always borrowed for the economy which doesn't shows any signs of moving forward but we have never borrowed for the war. If we waited for the economy to improve at such a level to support our war effort then in 20 years time we still be waiting and writing articles. Pakistan society is corrupt from top to bottom and IK is just one person and its not a one person job and its a loosing battle to sort out country mess. Why not prepare for the war, make a sacrifice, liberate Kashmir and enjoy the peace dividend as Europe has done and pay off what we borrowed with the peace dividend.
We have to fight our own war and in our own way as no one else will fight for us as we keep on displaying slave mentality of dependence on others. Arabs cant fight their own wars never mind the Al Aqsa liberation, then who are we for the Arabs that they will support and help us. Arab ruling elite is only interested and reduced to drink, women and pay someone else to do their dirty work why are even thinking of any support as its only going to be a let down.
I still bitterly remember after winning 1971 war India held celebrations at Red fort. After dancing with general Arora Ms Ghandi speech "if Pakistani Generals wants to win the war with India then Pakistani Generals have to break the drink glasses". Never mind Yaya Khan who earned accolade of womanising and famous drinking habits of 70's we have regulated drink under different guises for the masses too.
Since independence we are fighting with India unsuccessfully and Kashmir is still their why not we do a proper preparation and fight this time round till the final liberation once for all. I never said its going to be easy considering India is bigger then us on many fronts but with the right preparations, training, equipment and will to fight to the bitter end lets see who has got the bigger heart. Kashmir liberation will only come with the barrel of the gun not with the OIC or UN resolutions as World is preoccupied some where else. That's my 2 cents.

Sir we are running here and there because of peace loving government specially our pm. He is a kind person. His understanding of things are totally different.i thought after Feb 26, he will understand indian real intentions but he still wants peace. He is tweeting about Kashmir daily, calling world to react but world doesn't listen. Anyway our pm is the right man to run this government. I believe that our coas is very silent, cool and calm person. I have seen both army and government working together and it's great. Trust armed forces.i Don't think that Pak will stay silent in case of lac activation. Pak has their own plans and I believe coas wants to surprise everyone. He understands sentiments of pakistani people. India should better worry.

I agree with you. Those who believe in action always wins. It's only one year after abrogation. The game will continue and players will continue to rise and fall. It's all about selecting right time.

Mahatir and paksitan will now have something to say and do on august 5th every year. Its like some activity given to you to do every year hence forth for rest of your life.

.
I will take a hawkish point of view and want Pakistan should attack India in Siachin and then Valley to grab Kashmir. This will be our last chance and should push China to join it.
Even China doesn't want to fire first bullet... You want to take that honour... Pls do it....

We did that in the past and we can do that again. China is waiting for the right time. And when the time comes north from arunachal to UP and from Dehradun to kashmir will not be the part of Endia
