It is obvious that there are incredibly large deposits of Oil and gas in the Baluchistan / Fata areas which are yet to be discovered or disclosed.
I would urge the companies or the government who are doing the digging to keep this a secret till NATO withdraw their troops.
We do not want a situation where something huge gets discovered, ends up in the news, and NATO take notice. We would see a massive increase in militancy in the area in an attempt to destabilize and capture.
I don't need to go on about what happens when NATO gets a sniff of some Oil, e.g. Libya, Iraq etc etc.
At the moment we have low level militancy (TTP) and infiltrations (Altaf Hussain) which can be easily dealt with after NATO withdraw.
People are battle weary, when NATO move out it will give the militants an excuse to put down their arms and take a rest. That will give us 6-12 months of peace.
Immediately get to work on the local people there, get them back on our side. Fence the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, mine the damn hotspots where militants are known to cross over from. Oraganise local policing mechanisms and land is secured.
Then get drilling and keep drilling till the OIL and Gas starts flowing.
NATO as always will attempt to find an excuse to re-enter the area but with a fenced and mined border, Surface to Air missiles, Airforce, angry locals, they will not bother with the hassle and we can start getting stinking rich.
What do you think we should do?
