Kazakhstan's navy hopes to introduce the Chinese Type 056 missile frigate
According to quite reliable sources, Kazakhstan's navy hopes to introduce the Chinese-made 056 frigate in the near future.
Although Kazakhstan is a landlocked country, it also has a navy. Its naval strength is currently only consisted of patrol boats. Its sea power in the Caspian Sea does not have an absolute advantage. Although the Caspian Sea is a lake, it is the largest inland lake in the world with a maritime ecosystem.
At present, the United States and Russia are actively striving for the rights and interests of the Caspian Sea. Although the countries along the Caspian Sea have temporarily agreed to ban foreign countries from stationing in the Caspian Sea, But it does not rule out that the United States will try to enter the Caspian Sea again in the future.
With strong financial resources, Kazakhstan hopes to build a strong navy, and China 056 is perhaps the best choice.
The Type 056 (NATO reporting name: Jiangdao) is a Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) corvette. They replace older patrol craft and some of the Type 053H frigates. The first Type 056 entered service in February 2013. An anti-submarine warfare (ASW) variant, commonly known as Type 056A, has also entered service.
Two 1800 ton patrol variant, P18N has been delivered to Nigeria and four 1300 ton corvette variant has been sold to Bangladesh.
