ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Firday refused to answer queries about reopening of Nato supply line and ISI chief’s tenure, DawnNews reported.
The COAS said that the prime minister is the right person to ask about next chief of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).
The tenure of the current ISI chief Lt-Gen Shuja Pasha ends on Mar 18, this year.
It is important to note that Pasha’s tenure has been extended twice by the government.
Earlier, US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter had shown his concern over the retirement of Pasha.
Speaking to media representatives after attending the trilateral conference of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran, Kayani said that investigation of the civilians and military officials involved in National Logistics Cell (NLC) scandal was underway according to proper code of conduct and the law. “It takes time in such proceedings,” he added.
The COAS also refused to answer reporters’ queries regarding reopening of Nato supply line and court martial of military officials. “The defence minister can tell better about reopening of Nato supply line,” he added.

After this news, it show Kiyani should come in Politics after completing his tenure. He is damn smart person who through all balls in PPP court and " friendly opposition" court. For sure PPP and PMLn were not expecting this statement from Kiyani...
Najam Sethi been blaming Kiyani for taking all foreign policy decision in talk shows. But he call it PPP weakness who is not capable of handling the foreign policy. Now PPP has to implement its foreign policy in last year of its govt. And now Army is sitting on benches and watching the game.
