Am I the only one who believes letting go of Kashmir will actually help India and its economics in the long run more, rather than keeping the land? Unless an Indian genius can explain what exactly the benefits of Kashmir is to them? :/
Nope, it will break India, all together.
India is union of people of half a dozen different religions, about thirty or so different languages and hundreds of different ethnicities.
Even if one state is allowed to break away, because people there believe, they are different from rest of the country, then the whole idea of India as nation crumbles
Pakistan was created on the basis of two nation theory, that Hindus and Muslims can not live together in the same country.
Where as India was founded on the basis of secularism, all human beings irrespective of their religion are equal .
Where as other 180 million muslims in India , coexist peacefully with Hindus. Some how half a million Muslims from the valley can not.
One of the strongest secessionist movement in India was in Punjab, after it was crushed in 80s, Punjab has become one of the most prosperous state in India.
An Indian defeat in Kashmir will also rekindle other secessionist movements on the brink of death elsewhere in India.
