Load of bull crap. How will "independent" kashmir survive? What is its economic backbone?
Correctly said,There r no factories, industries, the only industry is tourism which is somewhat seasonal. On the other side of the Border, tourism is completley finished & terrorism is flourishing.

.
If A370 is abolished the rest of India can make investments in the state. People will be free to migrate and settle there for jobs and business and not just as tourists
What kind of businesses?

.
Most unimaginative and unimplementable solution. The OP is naive to think Kashmir to be a homogeneous society. There is no question that Jammu and Ladhak (the huge vote that BJP got in Jammu should rest any other speculation) will part with India. Even if we think that Kashmir valley would opt for Independence, a small piece of land measuring around just 16,000 sq (a 125 km by 125 km piece of land) cannot economically survive leading to huge influx of refugees into India. Then given the influence Pakistan enjoys in separatist camps and valley being pre dominantly Muslim, India would not want an Islamic wahabi laboratory at its door steps.

Accept LOC as IB and move.

.
my addtion - obviously, the governance of kashmir should be under guidance of transnational socialists and members of truly independent nations... kashmir can become a transnational region which requires no visa for any visitor... security and administrative support can be provided by iraqi/syrian baathists, venezuelan, the sco grouping etc.

Your proposal is unacceptable and is hereby rejected

.
This is unacceptable for Pakistanis, sorry :(

Sorry but Pakistanis do not have a say in this. You can cry as mush as you want. If the Indian Govt decides to remove Article 370 you can't do s**t

@jamahir has not yet replied to my post #32. I am eagerly waiting for his reply on how "independent" Kashmir will be economically viable.

He believes in utopia. A socialist state where the govt will take care of everyone. I just have this to say to him

Utopia is like a unicorn. It is beautiful to imagine and very much desired but ultimately the reality is that it does not exist.

@jamahir can you name even one succesful example of a socialist state which survived. USSR the mother of socialism broke into countless states, China, is a unabashedly capitalist country. Same is the case of Cuba, Venezuela and other so called communist countries. They may be constitutionally communist in name but in deeds all are capitalist.Your "ideal" country could not survive. Gaddafi himself was dragged along the street and killed like a rabid dog. You may say those were western backed rebels but if socialism was so good why was there a civil war?

What kind of businesses?

Tourism related businesses are possible. Even some IT services business can be setup. Once the place is open people will find some or the other business to be done

Yes but still there will still be many limitations. The options you mentioned may not be able to give many jobs unless it becomes a IT hub but again because of weather, this might be a bit difficult...

As long as Kashmiris call themselves Pakis instead of hindus i will always come inbetween.
Pakistan is a nation and Hinduism is a religion. If majority of Kashmiris want to be a part of India, then why should it pain you. You should stay out of it...

Sorry i meant to say Indian, not much difference. But if they decide to stay with India then we will forget about them. We are not beghairats types like Indians who are obsessive over other people afairs. So let Kashmiris decide and then we will see.

I agree with you. That is why I have already said an Independent kashmir cant survive economically. However if Article 370 is removed then they have a better chance of economic development.

Ultimately the people want jobs nad development. If the businesses are opening in the state and people are getting hte livelihood they will not pick up the gun. Thus removal of Article 370 may also be a trigger for reduction in militant activity

I think we need a good debate on the Article 370. This will bring out both positive and negative points of the same.

I will open a seperate thread for the same. Lets debate it there

bangalore has ceased to be economically viable, yes??

no, the point is not about having an economy for economy's sake.

for agriculture, "vertical farming" and "urban farming" can be used to reconvert every locality in the towns into self-providing areas... combine this with the jamahiriya direct-democracy local-governance system... there will be great surplus of agricultural produce which can be exported.

city-fication of kashmir should be undertaken at massive scale... villagers should be grouped into new townships... there is lot of land for this... this would be real development.

tourism would not only be for commerce but also to invite people to see this experiment in peace... all of kashmir ( present pak/ind/pla-control ) being visa-free will be great not only for tourism but also for any entrepreneur who wants to set-up business or not-for-profit groups which respect ecology.

i am in a hurry now... will be back shortly.

@jamahir can you name even one succesful example of a socialist state which survived.

somalia, romania, afghanistan, libya, iraq... what do you think happened to these former socialist states??

as to success, i have spoken of the comforts of libyan jamahiriya many a time... if you want i will return in twenty minutes and quote those again.

Wow so much ignorance. Even independent IoK can survive on its on. If they want to become Indians then article 370 should be removed.

What you say is right but then again it just won't be beneficial if we get rid of Article 370 without the majority of Kashmiris in favour of it. We will get to see the same kind of violence which we saw earlier. And if this happens then you can't expect businesses to come down and do their business over there... So I believe we have to take Kashmiris into confidence while sealing off the borders(Kind of a buffer region where no civilians can get in) so that our neighbours won't be able to disrupt any talks.

.
it will be removed. its time will come. Kashmir will be a non370 indian state. Muslims will go to P0K.

Nope, not happening. IoK ke chakar mein tum logh Delhi bhi ghawayo ghe.
