Bangladesh’s ties with Pakistan have been lukewarm and touched a low under the current Sheikh Hasina government which has strong position against Pak Army’s genocide in 1971 against population of then East Pakistan.

NEW DELHI: Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has told his Pakistani counterpart Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi that India’s decisions on Kashmir are purely internal matter when the latter telephoned Momen on Wednesday to discuss the issue.

Bangladeshi political community and civil society are of opinion that the past history is resurfacing with the Pakistan Foreign Minister seeking cooperation from Bangladesh over Kashmir issue.

Bangladesh’s ties with Pakistan have been lukewarm and touched a low under the current Sheikh Hasina government which has strong position against Pak Army’s genocide in 1971 against population of then East Pakistan.

Pakistan was also involved in the conspiracy, that resulted in the killing of Bangabandhu and most of his family members on Aug, 15, 1975.

Bangabandhu’s two daughters—Sheikh Hasina, currently Prime Minister of Bangladesh, and Sheikh Rehana—survived as they stayed abroad at that time. But Pakistan had even hatched conspiracy to kill them abroad.

Pakistan till now has not formally sought apology over the war crimes in 1971.

Senior Dhaka based scribe and former freedom fighter Farazi Ajmal Hossain is of opinion that Bangladesh should sever diplomatic ties with Pakistan.

Bangladesh earlier described Jammu and Kashmir as an internal issue of India.

Bangladesh maintains that the abrogation of Article 370 by the Indian government is an internal issue of India, said the foreign ministry, sharing Bangladesh's position on the issue.

It said Bangladesh has always advocated, as a matter of principle, that maintaining regional peace and stability, as well as development should be a priority for all countries.

It's An Indian Newspaper And You Still Have To Ask
one would think that perhaps there is a morsel of data which became the basis to their exaggerated claim and That it is not based entirely on a vivid imagination.

You're prolly right though.

it is an indian source so we can simply call it a lie. having said that pak should not have called bangladesh at all. there is a lot of hatred between the two nations and we bangladesh is an indian puppet and also a useless country. they cant help anybody even if they are allowed by their bosses in delhi.

You supplied fighter jets to Myanmar when they were killing & raping Rohingyas.Remember that.
Anyway that's neither here nor there.Disappointing statement by BD FM.Kashmir is a Muslim issue, as much as it's a humanitarian issue. We should have at least been neutral or supported Kashmir. When will we realize that the Muslims of the subcontinent must stick together?
The GoB may side with India, but the common Bangladeshis support our Kashmiri brothers & sisters.Except few people with slave-mentality towards India.
