Kashmir Freedom Struggle 2019: News and Views

I don't know why I thought tagging @Retired Troll here is a nice and friendly idea, lol...

Can you guess why no one in Kashmir is raising any slogans for Fazlu or his Azadi Marchi thingy?
Bad idea to tag "Munh ka fire" type irrelevant people here as we don't comment on Canadian affairs. We are also irrelevant for Canadians.

Khair, everyone knows what Fazlu did to the Kashmiri cause.

The Associated Press, New Delhi Tuesday, 22 October 2019

A US diplomat overseeing South Asia says the Trump administration is concerned about human rights in India-administered Kashmir but supports India’s development “objectives” for the restive Himalayan region stripped of its special status in August.

Acting Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Alice Wells released the statement Tuesday ahead of a congressional hearing in Washington on human rights in South Asia.

Wells said the US State Department has encouraged India to restore phone and internet access and release detainees. After India’s Parliament voted to remove a constitutional provision that gave Kashmiris semi-autonomy and land rights, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government imposed a security lockdown and communications blackout. Thousands of people have been detained.

Some phone connectivity has been restored, but internet services remain down.

The mangled remains tell a different story.

Indian media is downplaying the incident as an accident and all on board as safe.

Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Ranbir Singh was on board the downed helicopter too.

Well, it is Advanced Light Helicopter, made by and in India. Could have dismembered itself without having to be shot down. Though, I would like to see the passengers. Difficult to believe all walked away without harm.

CHANDIGARH, India

Six Indian paramilitary force personnel were injured in a grenade attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar on Saturday evening.

In a statement, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) said that six of their men were injured after unknown militants hurled a grenade in Karan Nagar area of Srinagar. “They [the injured] were transported to hospital,” the statement added.

Ravideep Singh Sahi, the inspector general of CRPF in Srinagar sector, told Anadolu Agency that the grenade was hurled on a CRPF deployment on Saturday evening. “Search operation has been started in the area...,” he added.

The attack came over a couple of months after the Indian government scrapped Jammu and Kashmir's special status under Article 370 and split it into two union territories.

Jammu and Kashmir has been under a near-complete lockdown since Aug. 5, when New Delhi scrapped the special status of the region, previously codified in the Indian Constitution's Article 370, which allowed it to enact its own laws.

Six security personnel were injured after suspected militants on Saturday threw a grenade at a Central Reserve Police Force team deployed at a checkpoint outside a hospital in Srinagar’s Karan Nagar area, The Indian Express reported.

This was “followed by firing which was promptly retaliated by security forces around 18.50 hours”, a CRPF spokesperson said, adding that injured personnel of 144 Battalion were injured and taken to hospital.

CRPF Inspector General Ravideep Singh Sahi told the newspaper that militants hurled the grenade outside Shri Maharaja Hari Singh hospital in Srinagar, and fled after the attack.

“We have cordoned off the area and also conducted some searches in the under-construction buildings near SMHS hospital,” Singh added. “Nothing has been found [during the searches so far],” Sahi said. The injured personnel were in stable condition and out of danger, he said.

All senior security officers rushed to the spot and launched a manhunt after the incident.

On Friday, Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat warned Pakistan to not resort to any “misadventure” against India. He had said attempts were being made by Pakistani terrorists to disrupt the normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir since the revocation of state’s special status.

On Thursday, suspected militants had shot dead two truck drivers transporting apples in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, and injured another. The attack came over a week after an apple trader from Punjab was shot dead by suspected militants in Shopian. The same day suspected militants gunned down a labourer from Chhattisgarh in Pulwama district. On October 14, a truck driver from Rajasthan was shot dead in Shopian.

@Mangus Ortus Novem we have had a sequence of reports about attacks on Indian Occupation forces.

Note that only civilian deaths are reported and the Occupation forces always are reported to have sustained just some injuries, despite being fired upon after grenade attacks.

Isn't it a propaganda failure that this type of inept activity dipicted by Indian propaganda press, being done by freedom fighters, shows that they are actually not well trained but are fighting their freedom struggle indigenously while learning the ropes...

Imagine the death toll when the freedom fighters will eventually learn how to properly cull the occupiers.

Five Indian Nationals Shot Dead in Kashmir
  • Oct. 30, 2019
Armed Kashmiris pulled five construction workers from their apartment, lined them up outside and shot them dead, witnesses and officials said on Tuesday, in the deadliest single attack on civilians since the Indian government revoked the disputed region’s autonomy nearly three months ago.

The laborers, who came from India’s West Bengal State, hundreds of miles away, were pulled from their shared apartment in south Kashmir on Tuesday night, according to witnesses and an official. A sixth worker survived being shot, and was in stable condition.

For weeks, militants have intensified active resistance to the Indian government.

“Blood was everywhere,” said Abdul Salaam Bhat, the village head of Katrasoo, where the attack took place. “It was as if someone had slaughtered dozens of sheep.”

Indian forces cracked down in the district of Kulgam, where the attack occurred, and arrested at least a dozen Kashmiris, though it was not clear whether any were accused in the attack.

Earlier Tuesday, Gurinderpal Singh, a senior police officer in the district of Kulgam, said, “No one has taken responsibility for the attack, nor do we have any leads.”

Kashmir has been in crisis since Aug. 5, when the Indian government announced that it would strip the state of Jammu and Kashmir of its decades-old special status and split the territory into two federally controlled enclaves. That move officially takes effect on Thursday.
