A fierce gunfight broke out between separatist guerrillas and the army on Friday after militants attacked an army camp in a border town of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, police said.
A senior police officer said guerrillas attacked an army camp at Mohra near Uri border town early on Friday.
"Militants attacked a field ordinance camp of the army at Mohra (Uri) early today (Friday) morning," the officer told IANS in Srinagar.
"A group of two to three militants are believed to have entered the camp where intense firing is going on," the officer added.
He said the militants also fired at the guards of local police officers who rushed to the spot after hearing gun shots.
There are reports of a fire in the camp but fire tenders are unable to go inside because of the ongoing gun battle.

Srinagar: Terrorists struck at an Army camp near the Line of Control on Friday, reports coming in from Jammu and Kashmir said.
The attack took place near LoC in Uri sector in Baramullah district, reports said.
It is believed that three to four terrorists are involved in the incident and they have been firing at the Army post. Reports said the terrorists tried to storm into the camp but were prevented by Army personnel, leading to the gunfight.
News agency ANI reported that the attack took place on the 31 Field Regiment Army camp in Mohara.
No injuries or casualties have been reported as of now.
The attack comes just three days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Srinagar on December 8, ahead of the third phase of elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
The state has witnessed a spurt in militant activity as well as infiltration bids in the wake of ongoing polls, especially with record number of people turning out to vote in the first two phase of polls.
