KABUL (PAN): President Hamid Karzai on Monday denounced deadly bomb attacks in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, bordering Afghanistan.

At least 47 people were killed and more than 114 others wounded in yesterday’s bomb explosions in Quetta and Peshawar.

Thirty individuals were killed and 70 injured in a suicide bombing near an imambargah (Shiite mosque) in the Aliabad area of Hazara town in Quetta.

Another 17 people were killed and 46 wounded during an explosion in the Badaber area on the outskirts of Peshawar. Several women and children were among the casualties.

While denouncing the attacks in the neighbouring country, Karzai said terrorists killed and maimed innocents Afghans and Pakistanis on a daily basis.

He called for sincere cooperation between the two nations in the fight against the twin scourge of terrorism and extremism in the region.

Afghanistan had always been willing for such collaboration, a statement from the Presidential Palace quoted Karzai as saying.

What exactly can Mr.Karzai provide to Pakistan even whilst he's hiding in the Presidential palace of Afghanistan with no say in his country's own negotiations with insurgents ? :azn:

It is important to keep in mind that our nations share a common goal of restoring peace and order in the region. We’ve all been impacted by terrorism, and continue to face common challenges on both sides of the border. To say the least, we are fighting the same terrorists and suffering at the hands of the same terrorists. It only makes sense us for us to work together for the betterment of the region. At the same time, our common enemies would certainly love to see us remain tangled in our differences. Our failure to remain unified shifts the advantage in their favor. We’ve made too many sacrifices in the region to let our enemies gain any sort of advantage. The seriousness of the situation requires us to create a healthy partnership for the sake of achieving our shared objectives in the region. We strongly encourage the regional partners to coordinate and communicate and address any shared concerns. We remain confident of achieving our shared objectives through shared cooperation.
