KARACHI – A Chinese company is willing to introduce electric buses worth $600 million in Karachi to mitigate commuting problems of the mega city.

Sindh Transport Minister Nasir Hussain Shah, stated on Monday that the new buses which are smoke and noise pollution free, would improve the environmental standards of the city.

A six-member delegation of Chinese company, Eco-Bus, led by their head Thomas Wang called on City Mayor Wasim Akhtar and described the benefits of using the electric buses, which once charged would run for 280 kilometers.

The delegation told the mayor that the buses would provide thousands of new jobs and 500 service stations would be made in the city to charge them.

Sorry to say, but for Karachi everyone have one policy. Give electric shocks and killed them all

Good for Pakistan, moving forward electic vehicles will be key to transport infrastructure.
Lesser dependence on oil is better for economy of net oil importing countries.
One thing that Pakistan would have to invest in is Electric Generation, or else they will have to import it from india or china to start with. But having access to fissile materials, if pakistan invests in nuclear energy the power crises could reduce extent or else give a big privatisation boost in renewable energy and see how private sector itself generates ample electricity for country...learn from Indian approach on this...
