Based on information given by Zulfiqar Mirza, which seems to be correct, where is/was ISI when these political parties are/were working against country? I now doubt that ISI is working in the best interest of the country. Is it compromised? ISI and other agencies knowing that business community is very much effected by these enemies due to ransom, strikes and other known facts and it can cause an unexpected loss to country's economy not seem to be doing to discourage it, why?
Appointment of highly corrupted faces on upper levels and above mentioned facts indicate a complete failure of ISI.
I've heard that ISI is supposed to be one of the dangerous agencies in the world. Is it true? If it is, then can someone explain to me how?

You have 2 optios to choose: either you trust ZM or ISI, keeping in view of the history of ZM, who was getting 10 - 15 k salary in PIA,now u can see his assets.

Even if he is telling the truth the prvious military takeovers are justified.

The ISI is one of the three intelligence service agencies of Pakistan, the others being the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Military Intelligence (MI). I think ISI is bound to operate outside Pakistan. It is Intelligence Bureau (IB) which is responsible for domestic/internal intelligence activities. Am' I correct?

MI is for purely military matters, stuff within the military. The IB is for purely civilian internal matters. ISI is for stuff within the military, internal as well as international. It has different branches and wings for each task,Joint Intelligence X, coordinates all the other departments in the ISI.[2] Intelligence and information gathered from the other departments are sent to JIX which prepares and processes the information and from which prepares reports which are presented.
Joint Intelligence Bureau, responsible for gathering political intelligence.[2] It has three subsections, one devoted entirely to operations against India.[2]
Joint Counterintelligence Bureau, responsible for surveillance of Pakistan's diplomats and diplomatic agents abroad, along with intelligence operations in the Middle East, South Asia, China, Afghanistan and the Muslim republics of the former Soviet Union.[2]
Joint Intelligence North, exclusively responsible for the Jammu and Kashmir region and Northern Areas.[2]
Joint Intelligence Miscellaneous, responsible for espionage, including offensive intelligence operations, in other countries (Men at their best).[2]
Joint Signal Intelligence Bureau, operates intelligence collections along the India-Pakistan border.[2] The JSIB is the ELINT, COMINT, and SIGINT directorate that is charged to divert the attacks from the foreign non-communications electromagnetic radiations emanating from other than nuclear detonations or radioactive sources.[2]
Joint Intelligence Technical,[2] deals with development of science and technology to advance the Pakistan intelligence gathering. The directorate is charged to take steps against the electronic warfare attacks in Pakistan.[2] Without any exception, officers from this divisions are reported to be engineer officers and military scientists who deal with the military promotion of science and technology.[2] In addition, there are also separate explosives and a chemical and biological warfare sections.[2]
SS Directorate, which monitors the terrorist group activities that operates in Pakistan against the state of Pakistan. The SS Directorate is comparable to that of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Special Activities Division, and responsible for the covert political action and paramilitary special operations.

IMO, the IB should be the one more involved in this.

That you seem to think that the ISI is really that powerful when infact its just that the military that really is pulling the strings ( army)

ISI is part of the Army my friend and statements like the bolded one above really serve no purpose but to initiate interesting dinner chats. Feel bad about the country? Get off your high horse and do something about it.

^ ISI is not agency worked under civilian government, there are FIA, special branch, CIA, IB so why all tunes broken at ISI.

Main focus of ISI is India............but now they have to deal with CIA too...........and Mossad , MI6 and taliban

FIA is another one, plus there is a certain extent of intel network in law enforcement agencies e.g. Police Services

Gen. Shuja Pasha already said on FACE of US officicals that you are not my boss...my boss is ALLAH............so don't use these words against him................also ISI can't be everywhere at anytime.............what situtation is going on in our country specially the militant organizations...and the ideoalogy and thinking of those peoples..............if those were in your country..........i doubt that your agencies could have successed more than ISI

karachi situation is not the job of ISI..why bring ISI into it in first place

reason for killin was plotical and responsibility lies on politicians, the chief justice, media and people for voting wrong people..

rangers were reluctant because they didnt had powers and fear of repetition of incidence that happened early..however now they have controlled the situation once their hands were opened.

IMO, the IB should be the one more involved in this.

Actually i tried to draw a parallel between the structure of intelligence agencies of India and Pakistan (because both the countries follow British structure). In case of India, RAW is for foreign intelligence, IB for internal intelligence and Military Intelligence for military matters. But, ISI seems to have operations in foreign as well as internal intelligence areas.
