Grow up you people! Even in each of your posts you separate Urdu speakers! Learn to mix and integrate or go back to where you came from! We have enough division on the basis of every shit available on the planet from religion, sect, school of thoughts to stupid province now dont make new divisions!

You are Pakistanis get that in your thick skull! You want to be called something else go join India...You want a separate land go join India...they are states and not a country! Stop trying to carve that out of Pakistan! We are not states stitched together but a country!

Anyone with a lick of sense and know how of how things work can determine that karachi can not become a singapore on it own. It will probably become worse off with this amount of population and the already present security threats. The frustrations are justified, but countering them with brains rather than emotions is whats required. Being more educated than the punjabi's is not going to make a singapore. Being a whole lot more educated than the singaporians will make a singapore. And for that you do not have to lose the lands that can be used to become better rather than secluding yourself within city limits which is nothing more than a fantasy.

Separation is pretty silly idea to begin. Let's hypothetically assume that MQM manages to separate Karachi from Pakistan.

Will the army just stand around and watch Pakistan's largest port walk off? W.11's idea of sharing the army with the rest of the country is downright naive. Any sign of independence will be taken as a serious threat by the army. Because that would allow Karachi to make its own foreign policy with the potential to side with India. As is the case with Hong Kong.

Let's assume, still more ridiculously, that Karachi manages to legally evict the army into the rest of Pakistan. So here it is, Karachi separated. Surrounded by water (without a navy) on one side. And the rest of the country on the other. How long before army comes in to take it back? Where will it get its resources from? Pakistan can sell it at any rate they like because Karachi has no alternative. What will Karachi do then? Cede to India?

as MQM is not trying to address that, Karachi people should come forward who want to save this one of the largest cities in the world, form a political front and put forward these following points

1) Karachi must have an autonomous status and its should have autonomy (like hongkong in china) so that it addresses its migration, population, law and order and many things

2) karachi only shares similar currency, army with Pakistan otherwise it should be otherwise free

3) karachi should have independece over its revenue and the revenue generated should be spent in Karachi and karachi alone

4) laws of Karachi should be different than laws of Pakistan which reflect Karachi's own interest

5) the pakistanis coming into karachi should have special permits and anybody just cannot be allowed to stay in karachi permanently

6) after five years there should be a proper referendom on karachi whether it wants to politically separate from Sindh and declared as autonomous region of Pakistan if things don't work out with people's party of sindh in provnce and PMLN in the federal

i totally disagree with MQM's politics of making alliances with other parties and that it doesn't demand separation of karachi even as a separate province, MQM doesn't get karachiites to enjoy their own local government, karachiites have no authority in law enforcement, karachiites have to suffer brutal quota system, Karachi has to suffer acquairing government jobs, Karachiites can get to have their own city funds spent on it, there is complete ethnic separation and isolation and an ethnic hegemony in all matters related to the business of karachi, so if karachiites can't be given a free space to control their own city than karachi must be declared as an autonomous self sustaining city

i think if within five years MQM fails to get Karachiites to have more powers, Karachiites must form another karachi based political party to put forward these demands, if the city is to survive in future

I gave him the benefit of doubt on all those points. Now assuming the Army says we will protect you from external threats only. Now they have to pay the army money. What are the main exports of Karachi? What does it manufacture to earn income? Money from using Karachi port? What if they start using gawadar for all trade. Or make another port. They have to pay for oil and food for 20 million people. Unless they start kicking out people who are already making enough trouble, think when their income is threatened what they will end up doing. Like I said its just fantasy. Even if everything goes their way, and by the way its only a few idiots who talk this nonsense sitting in London mostly. Talk to the educated people that MQM is so proud of and they will laugh at their face. They think the world will give them aid by the truck load because they will be ready to do the worlds dirty work.

Accept the failure of MQM, they are in power from last 25 years, and not able to deliver any thing to their voters.

after accepting that, i think we will discuss the solutions, because before cure we need to understand the disease also.

MQM have its own interests in Karachi and london!
MQM never want to sit in Opposition because of their own internal conflicts.
MQM never want to discuss the core issues of their voters.
MQM not have a vision beyond 20 years
MQM always speaks against Jageerdars, and also nominated them as a president or prime minsters.
MQM not have any problem that karachities have a proper transport system or not.
MQM not have Problem people have a water or not.

@W.11, Few weeks ago Ganja nawaz sharif gave you good package around 10,000 Million . Farooq sittar praised this package including metro bus project, Karachi-Lahore motorway, Big package for clean water and others....
Karachi is big city, We should make at-least 2 provinces from Karachi... and at-least 25 provinces in Pakistan.

Exactly mate. The answer is to make at least 20 more provinces in Pakistan. But the issue of new provinces has been hijacked by wolfs such as Chaudhry bradran. If these type of clowns will rule the new provinces then there is not point in any new provinces.

I wish that you people get new province and raise voice of middle class people but there is no hope from this government. These jagidaars, wadairaas will never understand this. Only right way is revolution and kick out this system. No other way.

this should happen and MQM should now focus on karachi and karachi alone, karachi is one heck of a mess and needs proper action now, karachi must either demand a complete authority on their own city or declare separation from sindh if PPP refuses

MQM should threaten if PPP doesn't give it powers than it will hold a city wide referendum about a separate province

I am all for a revolution and hate this system as much as any regular pakistani however i feel that third forces ( the extremists and jihadis ) will waste no time in turning Pakistan into syria and irak if they will find and opportunity thus in my opinion this isnt a good time. First we must eradicate these pests from our society and than march towards jagirdars , waderashahi ..
