Karachi industrialists ‘disappointed’ after meeting PM Khan

only_

email verified

your address, obviously, where will they deliver ?

nothing more, no govt IDs , no fones

pay them and take ur stuff, thats it

-----------

i can pay using any method the seller and i agree. alipay, TT, WU, many accept cryptos ( no KYC )

---------

So you are providing some form of ID be it email or address for delivery, now when you set up emails you provide information there as well, yes you can provide wrong information but the point is you provide that.

It has been sometime but I am positive that you have to provide little more than just email and address. However that is only Ali Baba but you have countless other sites where more detail is required.

From what I know Ali Baba is verifying businesses to ensure there is no fraud so that mean you have to provide more detail.

Now coming to payment method. So you are telling me WU does not require you to show ID or provide ID? I use western union and on each transaction I have to show my ID. Many online site such as Paypal have id verification methods and it is required.

Even you beloved crypto exchanges require ID verification. You know that on Binanace (on of crypto exchange) you have to verify you ID to be able to withdraw above certain limit?

So stop BS people.

only_

govt wants IDs so it can tax collect, , ( it wont happen though)

the way i see it, govt and FBRs would be 'begging' people for tax in near future

Thanks for admitting it. As they say right out of the horse's mouth

.
Ask yourself why the traders all of a sudden have an issue with providing CNIC for purchases off over Rs. 50,000.

Therein lies the crux of the problem. They want to protest, let them protest. They get back to their sense since they will have to provide for their families.

I am wondering why are they resisting this with such a force?

One fun story. After taking charge Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh attend business community gathering as usual they start putting demand which they always do we need subsidies on this and that, need this electricity gas and all sounds reasonable???DR simply listen than put figures in front of them u were taking all these for last 5 years with promise going to increase export and in last 5 years u did not increase it even by just one percent .Scene thaa aisy munh latky thy batana mushkil  Later he got instruction from govt ""bhi hath hola rakh"""

yeah I read somewhere that he asked them how much will you increase Export if we provide you all what you are asking for and the answere was silence

.
Let them protest. For how long can they sustain this? few days, a week at best?

They are businessmen and everyday counts and they know they will be hurting their own pocket.

Government only takes small percentage of their profit in taxes and vast majority still ends up in their pocket. So with each passing day they are losing revenue.
These types of posts makes me laugh --- last time, the mighty Musharraf tried .--- He surrendered before the strike was about to touch one month.

Just like for businessmen, every day also counts for govts.-- Just like businessmen, the pocket of govt will also get hurt (which already empty and they are begging imf to fill their pocket)

It's the employees/workers who get hit very bad .--- unemployment creates social unrest.

You can laugh for I care.

If anybody who is refusing to pay their share of the taxes they must be hammered. we have become a nation of free loaders and I can see that from your post and Mr Blueazure.

.
I think govt should implement this gradually otherwise these traders and industry owner will create shortage of necessary goods which will increase inflation and badly affect poor public

Poor and lower middle class is already suffering because of These goans

Don't worry, I am a tax payer ... :enjoy:
Yeah why not, start the hammer from the elite class/big industrialists/waderas etc., (you heard of any tax on waderas in this budget?) ------- I think you don't want to listen, let me say again:
1) reasonable Tax rates
2) Simplified Taxation system
3) Haram khors free FBR

You have any issues with these three points?

.
Retail sector is booming in Pakistan along with real state because both enjoyed tax free holidays for decades now.

1. Hardly any tax on retail who sell everything under the sun including smuggled products. This punish local industrialists.

2. No one ask from where the money came from to buy properties in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. Industrialists in last 10 years have put their money in retail and real state business.

Obviously this doesn't mean everyone is buying properties with black money but fact is if black money is taken out then properties prices will be much lower. That would help normal people to own house instead of speculators.
A small shop owner in my neighborhood where I grew up in Karachi, I met him after so many years when I visited Pakistan last Eid al Adha.. He had two cars, one bike (his shop is carved out of his house, blocking the passage of pedestrians on footpath). I told him that you might have to pay tax on your income from next year.. and he said that it will be a last nail in the coffin of PTI government..

Did I say waderas or anyone else should escape taxes? I am all for those who cannot explain their source of wealth to have their assets ceased and onus be put on them to establish source.

I agree with point 2 and 3. But point 1 is a problem. What is reasonable? its a governments prerogative to imposes what ever taxes they want provided they apply to all citizens.

Yes poor do need relief but the reality is that we have a mess that was created by the likes of PPP and PML N . PTI does not have a stick to fix that, they need time and assistant from people. But many free loaders are not willing to pay taxes.

Mr Blueazure here has been arguing again any form of tax be it income, sales or other wise. Few days ago he opened a topic in which he was arguing against all requirements which are required under international laws in particular those about Anti Money Laundry and Counter Terrorism Financing.

Problem is that the tax is being increased on those who are already paying taxes.. I think government should have kept it like before but impose new taxes on industries and agricultural income.. Big waderas do not pay a dime and drive Land Cruisers/ Nissan Patrols with Figos following them full of guards..

How point 1 is problem, if you take tax rates to a level where business activities aren't sustainable, than how will things work .---- I can assure you that with current devaluation & exorbitant tax rates, the business activities are already at lowest .-- in such scenario, how do you expect govt to generate tax revenue?

but I haven't heard any tax imposed on, say waderas .- --- Why the govt is reluctant to go after the influentials ??

No doubt but these traders are protesting now because they will have to pay their share. They have enjoyed too much time outside the bracket and now when they are required to become part of the taxation system.

Why do they have problem in having to province CNIC no on purchases? because it means their transaction can be traced and they will be required to pay the right amount of tax.

This protest is not about extra taxes but rather:

1. they dont want to become part of the tax system hence pay taxes on profit.
2. they want to enjoy subsidies yet pay no taxes.

.
Nobody talks about increase in GOVT expenditures which increased about 400% in the last ten years and they say Pakistanis don't pay taxes .----- :coffee:

I am in favor of bringing them into taxation system and that's why I posted about an acquaintance of mine who is a shop keeper.

I am only against the idea of not putting any tax on Waderas.. that will increase dissatisfaction among the masses over time because of injustice..

  • Industry is 21% of the GDP but paying 71 % of the total tax
  • Services is 60% of the GDP but pay less than 6% of the total tax
  • Out 37 millions commercial electricity connection only 40 thousands are paying tax
  • Out of 0.32 millions industrial units only 14000 pay nominal tax.
  • Textile sector does business of PKR 2000 billion but pay tax of only PKR 6 billions instead -- get subsidy of PKR 200 billions on gas and electricity.
  • Recent data collected by FBR and NADRA shows there are 53 million people who own property worth of billions but pay no tax.
  • There are total 80 sugar mills out of them 72 are in loss hence no tax but donot forget to get subsidy from the Govt.
  • 300 top companies giving 80% of the total tax.
  • 50000 out of 110000 listed companies in stock are not even registered with FBR.
  • 30-40 % of the total 40 millions bank accounts are actually ghost accounts.
  • Agri sector is 26% of the total GDP but hardly pay few billions of rupees as tax. This year agri sector is going to get subsidy of 300 billions of rupees as well.
  • Power sector losses PKR 400-500 billions /year with total circular debt 0f PKR 1600 billions.
  • Gas sector losses PKR 100-150 billions with total circular debt of PKR 250 billions.
  • Sick units need PKR 300-400 billions/year to keep them running.
  • Gold market owes undeclared gold worth of PKR 4-5 trllions
First pakistan agri sector is one of the worst. Our per acre production is pathetic although we use large quantity of fertilizer. We need to improve our production and introduce new and corporate farming. Our present machinery and method/technique is probably 35 year behind developed world.

Secondly corruption is everywhere. Govt. run entities are not only corrupt but also overpaid and incompetent.

Third instead of crying about subsidies why not Govt. resolve the core issue which is cheap and uninterrupted power supply.
Cost of production is too high.
Khan sb can do us one big favor by giving go ahead on KB Dam. World Bank will have no issue in funding it & KP govt is run by PTI.

Pervez Musharraf did not had mandate of people like PTI-led government, illogical comparison.

All 'tax defaulters' will have to pay taxes, or get ready for civil war and destruction of your houses and families even.

Do not test patience of the poor and middle classes for idefinite period.
