RIP to innocent .
Can any one tell me ,why ismails community is under attack ?They are one most educated and liberal community even in India. My ex gf was an Ismaili and must say their community women are very much entrepreneurial.

talibans are externally funded. What else.

dg ispr had clearly said in a press conf no local militant group can work at such large scale without external funding.
And honestly in the past few months when ever pakistan foreign office or our side has made some official statement, against india specially regarding kashmir, almost always some kind of terrorist incident has followed that. This time our establishement was making clear statements against raw.

I don't think you believe what you say. No offense, but you have been craving and propagating here for Pakistani soldiers to be sent to Yemen and fight for Saudis. How can someone be serious about eliminating domestic terrorism while he dreams of having his compatriots fight for a country that inspired and funded this ideology in first place?

No, I'm not expecting anything to happen, because nothing happened after hundreds of similar attacks. If there is a corrupt politician who is preventing it, instead of electing them again, you should hang them. But they get elected again and again. Why is that?

MQM also has killed thousands in Karachi. Karachi has to be handed over to Army now and its time to launch an operation and end both MQM and TTP.
and what about the other angels?

That's it I am not asking him to take my point of view but giving him piece of my mind.
I think such times when innocent lives are lost even almighty cries for creating such insane creatures. And cursing other society is no way out. I can't find anybody around me who will be happy that a few innocent lives are lost kids women and men .

Everybody is enraged at such cowardly act Indians are not demons. Indians feel the pain. So don't downgrade humanity by saying such things.

We will increase terror in india

Can you irfan kill a 2 yr old kid who doesn't know what is Hindu Islam or Christ. Only fuckingg terrorist can! They are not human they have lesser god!
bless you

may you and those around you never have to revisit the horrors of Mumbai or what we have seen since this War on terror was imposed on us and what happened in Peshwar school and rest of Pakistan. since Peshawar tragedy, I was of the view that even if beyond doubt Indian state's hand is found or even its rouge element ... even then I wont advocate any such horror against Indian people. and yes I have met and lived with Indians and offered them my home and food

you are as bad as us and you have same feelings like us. the way the Indian school children across the country stood in silence and prayed for their fellow students in Peshawar should melt any heart.

boy you have not seen the devastation in peshawar I cant even write it and what the people of tribal areas have suffered at the hands of these terrorists. we only got a taster mate.. the biggest victims of these terrorists are the people from tribal areas who had no support no help and no strength to stand up to these terrorists who have not only stood up to Pakistan army but the combined western army in Afghanistan and Iraq as well. their source of funding and ideology is only one place but sadly Oil is dearer and blood is cheap and the world conscience looks for excuses or keeps quiet.

the enemy is among us in our hearts and minds. we check who has died and give a sign of relief its different faith, community or ethnicity. we curse Israel and America for their brutality of Muslims and yet we have people among us who have killed more in one day than their killings in weeks or months. (i know someone will challenge it by giving figures of war dead due to American bombings but compare it to what Iraqis did after the invasion to their fellow countrymen and do the maths)

Pakistan gunmen kill 45 on Karachi Ismaili Shia bus

Grief-stricken relatives rushed to the hospital when news of the bus attack broke
At least 45 people have been killed and 13 injured in a gun attack on a bus carrying Ismaili Shia Muslims in the Pakistani city of Karachi, police say.

A police official said six gunmen on motorcycles had stopped the bus and fired indiscriminately at passengers.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has condemned the attack and ordered an investigation.

Pakistani Taliban splinter group Jundullah and Islamic State (IS) both said they had carried out the attack.

It is the second deadliest militant attack in Pakistan this year after 62 Shia Muslims were killed in a suicide bombing in January.

Analysis: M Ilyas Khan, BBC News, Islamabad
This is the first such attack on the Ismaili community in Pakistan, and it is shocking even by the standards of Karachi. The sheer numbers of casualties and the manner in which they were killed provide an uneasy contrast with the peaceful image of this Shia sect, which makes up a tiny proportion of Pakistan's mostly Muslim population.

One of the country's many militant groups has said it carried out the attack. But we are not likely to find out for sure who did it because Karachi is in the throes of an armed struggle between the military and a confusing array of political, religious and sectarian militants.

Ismailis consider the Aga Khan their hereditary spiritual guide. They mostly inhabit the Himalayan region of northern Pakistan, but also have a significant presence in Karachi where they run businesses and charities, and tend to use community-built accommodation and transport.

The attack is likely to cause some diplomatic tensions for Islamabad as the Aga Khan has been a major source of development funds. This may be one reason why both the prime minister and the army chief have set aside other engagements to head for Karachi.

About 60 people were on the bus when it was stopped in the Safoora Chowk area on its way to the Ayesha Manzil Ismaili centre, police said.

Relatives of some survivors said the gunmen were dressed as policemen.

They said the bus driver was killed and an injured passenger drove the bus to Memon Hospital Institute. Witnesses said it was riddled with bullets and the interior was covered in blood.

BBC Urdu service editor Aamer Ahmed Khan in Karachi said it seemed to be a well-planned attack.

He said the bus was making one of five daily scheduled trips between a gated community housing mainly Ismailis on the north-eastern outskirts and the main city.

Who are the Ismailis?

  • Ismaili Shias, in common with other Shia Muslims, revere Ali, son-in-law of the Prophet Mohammed, but they also revere the Imam Ismail who died in 765 AD
  • They interpret the Koran symbolically and allegorically
  • They live in more than 25 different countries
  • Spiritual leader Prince Karim Aga Khan is a philanthropist and business magnate. He gives his name to bodies including a university, a foundation, and the Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
  • He has encouraged Ismailis settled in the industrialised world to contribute to those communities

The attack seems to have been well planned
One man at the hospital told AFP news agency: "I have come to collect the body of my young son. He was a student preparing for his first year exams at college."

Ismaili spiritual leader Prince Karim Aga Khan said in a statement the "attack represented a senseless act of violence against a peaceful community".

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif described the killings as "a deplorable attempt to spread chaos in Pakistan".

A Jundullah spokesman said the group had carried out the attack because it considered the victims to be infidels. He threatened more attacks against Ismailis, Shias and Christians.

A statement purportedly from IS posted on jihadist Twitter accounts also claimed the attack.

Pakistan's army chief Gen Raheel Sharif has cancelled a three-day trip to Sri Lanka and is leading the investigation, the BBC's Urdu editor said.

Pakistan is about 20% Shia and 70% Sunni. Recent attacks on Shias in Pakistan include:

  • In January, an attack on a Shia mosque in the southern province of Sindh killed 60 people
  • In February, 20 people were killed in an attack on a Shia mosque in Peshawar
  • Suicide bombings outside two churches in Lahore in March killed 14 people and wounded nearly 80; days later, a bomb after Friday prayers wounded 12 outside a minority Bohra mosque in Karachi.
Karachi, Pakistan's commercial capital of about 20 million people, has long had a reputation for sectarian violence.

Because Houthis are doing same picking up arms against state can't be tolerated
cant be tolerated?
who a fck are we to decide?
they are like 7 or 8 tribes only one zaidi shia rest all Sunnis. they are supported by Yemani army and even Ali Abdullah Salaeh (the former favourite of Saudis). if they are supported by Iran then so what? why we care? should this mean that another country should gather other thugs and start carpet bombing one of the poorest country of the region?

his deputy president backed off from the deal of re-elections. they are fighting their war with their backs towards Saudis and their faces to their own Capital and KSA decides to bomb the entire country.

wow, might is right and power is blind.

I was right, wasn't I? You never change.
But i seems they are 'tolerated' on Pakistan's economy hub, stopping a bus and shooting every being in it, only because of what they believe in.
