Not good enough. You have failed your Muslim Afghan brothers. You can't even secure your hotels or the little space you control.

Admit failure.

.
So, Afghanistan's only 5 star hotel is gone? Tsk Tsk..

Everyone in America says :
Our new policy is working.
It is so easy to blame the attacks by taliban or haqqani network (which didn't happen in a long time) on pakistan.
What about Isis, isis also attacks and bomb pakistan.
As in the past the Afghans try their hard to blame the attacks claimed by Isis on Taliban and Pakistan...
See there the main problem lies.
You are going after the wrong person, while the terrorist roam free in your own country.
Take example of Pakistan, pakistan has eliminated Pakistani Taliban, the rest few are hiding in Afghanistan and occasionally do attacks with nds and raw funding.
Did we blame it on you, or ourself for our security failure.
Similarly If you kill all the fighters or every single Taliban, haqqani, terrorist in Afghanistan . Even if you claim some are hiding in pakistan, killing the ones in Afghanistan would make the ones in Pakistan worthless.
Instead of putting your own house in order , afghans are blaming left , right and center.
Pakistan, Iran, Russia etc etc. This Is not going to help.
Set your own house in order. Even the Americans or world powers cannot do it for you. Reclaim and hold those areas you lost to taliban.
Attacks in Afghanistan pain Pakistani as much as it pains an Afghani.
Though afghans hate us for the simple reason, that we are Pakistanis.
Afghans must realise what Is happening in their country, take charge and remove their weakness. After 16 Years of war, you don't need an army and a government that cannot last 3 months without us support.
For my afghan friends please think.

Militants Attack Hotel in Kabul, Trade Fire With Security Forces (PHOTO)

Afghanistan's Interior Ministry spokesman has confirmed to TOLOnews that Intercontinental Hotel in the capital has been attacked on Saturday. Reports say insurgents have entered the building as police have cordoned off the area.

Heavy gunfire is taking place at Kabul's Intercontinental Hotel, TOLOnews reports. According to local police sources, several people have been taken hostage and some killed. Security services are responding to the crisis. The exact number of attackers is being verified.

An Afghan spy agency official told AFP that there were four militants inside the hotel. According to TOLOnews, security forces and the militants are engaged in an exchange of fire.

One of the attackers has been reportedly killed.

The local Ariananews media outlet described the hotel as "heavily guarded", which raises the question of how the militants managed to break through. According to TOLOnews, it is the second time the hotel has come under attack — in 2011, nine attackers killed 12 people while storming the building, and they were all eliminated. The hotel is known as a venue for conferences involving government officials.

The Saturday incident is taking place just five days after two rockets hit the Afghan capital's diplomatic district.

People are sharing information about the attack on social media.

Afghanistan is suffering from activity of the Taliban, a militant group formed in the 1990s, seeking to establish strict Sharia law in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The crisis in the country has prompted the emergence of local cells of other extremist organizations, such as the Daesh terrorist group, which is outlawed in Russia and numerous other countries.

Hostage reports are disturbing. There can be major casualties.

These people don't have any control over their country. Four gunmen have held an entire hotel hostage. What a screwed up situation.

I think the bigger problem is there are retards willing to murder people for money or whatever it is. This should not be something a society has to deal with.

You reap what you sow. America has destroyed Afghanistan during its 16 years of occupation. Narcotics production is all time high and the US profits from this illicit business. If a superpower can't control Afghanistan no one can.

The Intercontinental Hotel in Afghanistan's capital, Kabul is under attack according Reuters, citing an interior ministry spokesman.
The group of “three or four men,” who appeared to include suicide bombers, attacked the hotel Saturday and exchanged gunfire with security forces, according to ministry spokesman, Najib Danish.

The attackers have taken several hostages in the hotel, according to local news agency Tolo News who cited Kabul police.

The hotel’s manager Ahmad Haris Nayab, who managed to escape unhurt, told Reuters the attackers infiltrated the hotel and started shooting at fleeing guests. He wasn’t able to provide details about casualties, however a local news station reported some 35 casualties, citing a security source.

The attackers are “shooting at guests,” according to AFP who cited an Afghan spy agency. A guest hiding in his room told the news agency he “heard gunfire from somewhere near the first floor."

"We are hiding in our rooms. I beg the security forces to rescue us as soon as possible before they reach and kill us," the trapped guest added.

The fourth floor of the hotel is also on fire, according to an official from the National Directorate of Security who spoke to AFP.

A local news reporter for an Afghan television network reported hearing an explosion from outside the burning building. While a resident living close to the hotel reported hearing “another two explosions,” according to TOLO news.

The gunmen entered through the hotel kitchen, before moving to rooms 104 and 105, according to local journalist Bilal Sarwary, who cited an Afghan special forces commander.

There's no immediate reports of injuries and no group has claimed responsibility yet.

On Thursday, the US State Department warned of a possible attack in Kabul. The Department said it had received reports of “extremist groups” planning a hotel attack in the capital, “such as [on] the Hotel Baron near Hamid Karzai Int'l Airport.”

The Intercontinental is one of two main luxury hotels in Kabul and previously came under attack in 2011. Seven people died in that assault, when several gunmen and suicide bombers, three of which detonated their devices, attacked the facility.

In 2014, nine people, including children, were killed during a Taliban attack on Kabul’s Serena Hotel. Four teenage gunman penetrated several layers of security by hiding pistols in their socks to infiltrate the venue favored by foreign visitors.
